  1. Yes. And I also like the fenders on the photo of the real car better. I might have to change the kit fenders to look more like that,
  2. Ah, ok, now I see. I was wondering how you knew of a certain problem without ever having built one.
  3. Thanks... but how do you know that?
  4. Very nice attention to detail. Looks like you're going all out to make this as accurate as possible. That being the case, you might want to fix the parking brake cables. You have them going in a big, lazy, round loop. In reality there is some tension on them, and they rum more or less straight, like in this photo..
  5. How do you know? Have you built one?
  6. Not really anything I can show you right now... it' just a big box full of thousands of parts. But here is a real one, this is the car...
  7. I might install the brake details. I will definitely install all the engine internals (this kit even has separate piston rings!) In previous Pochers I did cut corners... didn't bother with the working lights, didn't bother with the brake detail. In this case, I think I might just go all out and actually include all the features in the kit. The reason I never bothered with the working lights in past kits is because once a bulb burns out, there's no way to replace it... so I figured why bother with the working lights at all. But today I can buy little LEDs that'll last almost forever, so maybe I will add the working lights feature. I will also be doing a custom interior, with wood trim on the door panels and a real wood dash. And a custom color scheme different from the ones you usually see on this car. I'm thinking two-tone body with a third color on the fenders. We'll see. This is all off in the future a bit. I have to finish the RR woody first.
  8. Came today! Wow, this kit box is huge... bigger than the RR box. I got what looks to be a very early production kit, with the internal differential gears–that feature was included in only a few of the very earliest release of this kit and was deleted pretty quickly by Pocher. Even some of the early kits don't have the gears anymore, even though they are still shown in the instruction manual... Pocher didn't get around to revising the manual until later releases of the Bugattis. The kit is completely factory-fresh. None of the parts tree plastic bags have been opened, none of the smaller bags containing all of the metal parts have been opened. This kit is completely untouched... a time capsule from decades ago. Even the instruction manual is as crisp and fresh as the day it was printed. Somebody bought this kit many years ago and literally didn't touch it.
  9. Of course, I always preferred the Black Crowes. Ok, to be honest, I really prefer Sheryl Crow...
  10. Counting Crows are still together?!!! Man, I thought they threw in the towel many years ago. Live and learn, I guess...
  11. Very nice, but that "magic floating generator" isn't fooling anyone...
  12. BTW... just for the sake of heresy... I'm thinking of not doing the curved sweep on my Bugatti.
  13. I like it. Personally I might have gone with a slightly differently shaped sweep... a continuous curve from front to back. mimicking the front fender shape, beginning the dropoff immediately aft of the grille, not following the line of the hood and then beginning the curve. But that's like arguing Italian vs. Chinese food, or chocolate vs. vanilla ice cream... it's personal preference, not "right" or "wrong." If it pleases your eye, it's "correct." I like the concept, regardless of the specific curve shape. You're going to have a very unique Rolls when you're finished, and that is what's so cool about what you're doing.
  14. Yours looks great! I like the colors you used. I built the same kit, same "Skip's Fiesta" release, about the same number of years ago as you did.... painted mine red and black. As I remember, it was a fun model to build.
  15. Hmmm... are those the "invisible mountains?"
  16. Ok, this is a cover that came out before the original came out! Huge hit for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton... …but it was actually written by the brothers Gibb (aka the Bee Gees). They didn't record it until many years later...
  17. Technically, the Roadrunner says "meep meep," not "beep beep."
  18. Yeah, MMC parts are definitely not cheap. You might even say they're crazy expensive. Which they are. But they're the only game in town, and their quality is top notch. I spent more on MMC aftermarket parts for my Mercedes than I paid for the kit itself!
  19. Uh, yeah, definitely not.
  20. Didn't your mom tell you that you would go blind doing that?
  21. Isn't that a '55 Chevy hood ornament?
  22. Geez, it's too bad you don't know how to create a shiny paint job...
  23. I think I fixed the quote problem, too. Let's see how it goes.
  24. Test. ok, looks like I fixed it. Now I gotta figure out that whole "quote" mess...
