  1. I'm still surprised that any yahoo can rent a Viper or similar hot car on the strip, regardless of whether or not he knows how to handle one.
  2. Should the hood, trunk, and door lines have been emphasized? Or removed?
  3. The only problem is that it looks like all the horses are in the exact same pose. Would have been nice to have some variety there... but of course that doesn't take away from your nice work, that's a problem with the kit itself. PS: I love the dog!
  4. That's true...
  5. A lot of stuff gets quickly deleted over there. I know. I was a member there for seven years.
  6. Firefox is an "off-brand" browser??? So which browsers are "brand name" browsers and which are "off-brand?" From what I've read about all of the people who say they have a problem with this site, most of them are using IE. I'm not saying that IE is the cause of the problem, but it sure looks like the vast majority of people having problems with this site are trying to access it via IE. Just sayin'...
  7. Since you asked... it doesn't work for me.
  8. By the way, it's not "SAE" anymore. They dropped the "Enthusiast" part long ago.
  9. Carl, the list that was posted earlier in this thread was incomplete. It turns out that George Toteff was inducted in 1999, but I don't see any of the others you listed.
  10. Yes, it's the Model Car Builders museum, but the HOF has two inductees every year: an "industry insider" and a "builder/writer."
  11. I couldn't agree more. Exactly what I was thinking, and it's the exact reason I questioned the HOF election process in the first place. In most HOFs, the pioneers and founders/innovators/creators of the field are generally the first inductees.
  12. I agree it would be awfully hard to decide what model builders deserve a spot in the HOF. There are literally thousands of model builders around the world that build to HOF levels or higher, but they are anonymous. Then there are dozens of people right here on this forum whose work would pass any HOF test... but how do you possibly draw the line between who gets in and who doesn't get in? I can see industry insiders and innovators in the Hall... people who founded model companies or in other ways made their mark on the hobby in important and memorable ways, because there are so many fewer of those types of people. But model builders? I couldn't make that decision. Way too many of them who are worthy.
  13. This week's car comes from forum member Ken Stone (otherunicorn). Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model (need all three for credit). The answer: 1963 Matra Djet
  14. I'm not seeing how putting the front wheels behind the passenger compartment instead of in front makes it any lower. But I assume the Mercedes guys knew what they were doing.
  15. I wonder what their logic was in doing the cab in such an odd way instead of a more conventional layout.
  16. Does anyone know exactly how it's decided who gets into the HOF? Are potential inductees nominated by someone? By whom? Are there any criteria for nomination? Are potential inductees voted on by a panel, like the baseball HOF? If so, who is on that panel, and how did they get on it? In other words, who is deciding which people are worthy of the HOF, and what are their qualifications for making that decision? A lot of the integrity and validity of any HOF depends on the process involved in the induction of persons into the hall, who is doing the inducting, and why. I am NOT casting aspersions here... I simply have no idea what the process is, but I would like to find out, so maybe I can better understand how and why the people in the HOF got there.
  17. There's no need to fly off the handle.
