  1. How can you stray off topic in the Off Topic lounge? Everything here is off topic!
  2. No HL in Canada. The closest one to Vancouver is in Everett, Washington.
  3. If it's a subject that I really want to build, I just deal with the imperfections. Who the manufacturer was is irrelevant to me, it doesn't change anything about what's in the box in front of me. If flash needs to be removed or sink marks filled, so be it. Or to put it another way... if it's a subject I really want to build, I wouldn't be swayed one way or another by who manufactured the kit. It just doesn't matter to me (unless there's a case where the same exact subject in the same scale was made by more than one manufacturer... in that case, obviously I'd get the one with the better reputation).
  4. And I thought the bad door fit would suggest "model!"
  5. I can't name a "favorite" manufacturer. I buy a kit based on my interest in the subject and the scale of the kit... I couldn't care less who the manufacturer is.

  7. 1966 Iso Rivolta Daytona
  8. Final vote: 28 REAL, 9 MODEL. And the answer is... REAL!
  9. "Box Stock" generally means using only the parts in the box... no kitbashing or scratchbuilding or aftermarket parts allowed. So gluing opening panels shut would still be acceptable as "Box Stock." But Mark is right... different contests have different rules, "box stock" might mean different things at different contests.
  10. Don't you know that the moon landing was staged in the Nevada desert?
  11. Exactly. The coupons are for one reason only: to draw people to the store. The theory is that the average shopper will buy more than one item, thereby offsetting any "loss" that HL takes on the couponed item (which really isn't a loss at all, as they can sell a given item for 40% off and still make a profit on the item, much as a car dealer can sell you a car at "invoice" but still make a profit on the deal). If the coupon program was seen as a drain on the bottom line, they would stop the program. BTW... the "fine print" on the coupon states that the 40% off is good on any ONE regularly priced item (not an item already marked down), one coupon per customer per day. So if a family of 12 came to HL and they all had a 40% off coupon, theoretically every one of those family members could go through the checkout separately with their coupon, and that family of 12 would each be able to get 40% off any regularly priced item that day.
  12. Does the person whose guess is closest win a prize???

  14. It's not just you. The photos are distorted. Click on a photo and you'll get a link to the originals.
  15. This topic is four years old. Not sure why it was resurrected, but everything was decided years ago.
  16. Well... I already added the louvers on the rear quarter windows... I got rid of the "big rig" looking OEM side view mirrors and replaced them with Agent 47 sport mirrors... I installed a sequential stoplight/turn signal wiring harness... got the billet front grille to replace the factory molded plastic unit... got rid of the ugly factory shift knob and replaced it with a "classic" white knob type with the shift pattern engraved on it... so I think I'm good to go! All I need now is a magic formula to increase MPG!
  17. Right! How did this come back to life??? BTW... I went with the black panel, and yes, I still own the car.
  18. Why so eager to dump on Fox News? If you were paying attention you would have seen that the story was written by Rob Sass of Hagerty.
  19. Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in years! I didn't know he was even still alive, let alone still performing!
  20. Believe me, your "German English" is better than some members' American English!
  21. Now there's a model you're not going to see every day! Another flawless piece of craftsmanship from you. You make it look easy...
