  1. Some parts will need detail painting, gloss/satin/flat, black wash, etc. if you want the model to be as authentic as ppossible. Not everything is the "correct" color right out of the box.
  2. Aw heck, I know you knew I know. Ya know?
  3. I know. Notice I said mirror. Singular.
  4. Looks pretty good, but a factory stock car would have a rear-view mirror.
  5. And of course, those who march to the voices in their heads...
  6. What do Elizabeth Berkley or Gina Gershon think of your models?
  7. No readily available glue will stick to those tires.
  8. Charlie... record it! Doesn't matter when it's broadcast... you have the power to create your own TV schedule! I also like MeTV. So many great old shows. I probably watch more old shows on MeTV than I do first run series.
  9. Ok, seeing as how you're contrite and owned up to your gross error, I'll let it go. This time. But seriously... great job on the Panzer and the figure. You do good work.
  10. I wonder why the CVT trans isn't isn't used on more cars. Seems to me to be a big improvement over that big box of individual gears and all the related mechanicals needed to keep them from crashing into each other.
  11. Hey Rich... I notice that the wipers on that body are very shallow and almost invisible. Maybe you might want to look into PE wipers for your next model? I think a model as cool as this really deserves going that "extra mile." Maybe too late to mess with this one, but something to consider for your next one? PS: Love the dash-mounted rear view mirror. Very period-correct for a MOPAR and a nice touch.
  12. I think Rich owns stock in the company!
  13. BTW... before you're sent into exile, I just want to say that the figure looks really good. Nice paint/detail work. Now BE GONE!!!
  14. What???!!!! You used inaccurate sand from the wrong continent? And you call yourself an armor builder??? Hand in your rivet counting calculator immediately and don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!
  15. Right. Back when you could still actually tell one car from another!
  16. Nice! Johan?
  17. A beautiful model of a beautiful car! You done good!
  18. That would be Frau Daimler. I think he left her at das haus whenever he went motoring...
  19. I think that condescending attitude stems from the fact that in the world of model cars, there are just way more kids and/or "unserious" modelers building donks or wild customs that would be totally impractical in the real world, people who continue to ignore obvious mistakes like the "magic floating alternator," etc. than there are "unserious" armor modelers. And I think that many (most?) serious/hardcore armor guys see their way of modeling as being harder, more demanding, more challenging, and requiring more skill than the guys who put giant wheels and sparkly paint on a car (no offense to those who do... I'm making a point). I mean, comparatively speaking it is a lot easier to throw together a bunch of parts box pieces that may or may not make sense in a real vehicle and say you are being "creative" vs. the discipline it takes to do the research and take the care to build a perfectly accurate model of a specific Panzer from a specific theater or a specific battle, etc. Not that all car modelers build that way, but enough so that it has become the stereotype. See what I mean? It's no wonder that a lot of armor builders look down on model car building as a kid's game. I'm not saying I necessarily agree with them, just trying to explain where their condescending attitude comes from... and when you think about it logically, it's actually pretty easy to see.

    Duster

Exactly. When you put cartoonishly large wheels and tires on a model it screams "model" or "toy" and not "realistic scale replica," especially when, as Erik pointed out, the tires have no room to either steer or allow suspension travel.
  21. Thanks to customsrus for this one. Remember, don't post hints or answers here! PM me with specific year, make and model. The answer: 1989 Laforza
  22. I had a '72 Nova SS 350 back in the late '70s... bronze/copper color with a black vinyl interior, bench seat, Hurst shifter with that bent chrome arm and the big white ball on top, jacked up with American mags... memories!
  23. Love the missing radio!
  24. I think that's the main reason the Volt is going nowhere: the price is so high that the average car buyer wouldn't (or couldn't) even consider it.
