  1. What about drawing the rivets on with a blue ultra-fine tip Sharpie? Just touch the tip to the surface to create a small dot.
  2. It looks good, but you need to be more careful when you're trimming your foil.
  3. Please post questions in the Q&A section, not in the Tips section.
  4. Yes, there are a few things not eligible, like class fees. But model kits and model-related supplies are definitely eligible for the discount.
  5. Try it the very next time. Silver paint doesn't look like chrome, it looks like silver paint. Foil will make a huge difference on your models.
  6. Looks pretty good, but I suggest you step it up next time and use foil for the chrome trim on the body instead of silver paint.
  7. I agree with Charlie. A real garage doesn't have dark gray walls and floor.
  8. It must be, at the rate you post new models! Nice work as always.
  9. Then the cashier was flat out wrong. The coupon is good on any item that's not already on sale, including paints or kits. I suggest you talk to the store manager.
  10. You sure work fast!
  11. Ah, ok. I didn't know about the MS. But why not just build in smaller increments? Work an hour here, an hour there, etc., build the model in small increments. But of course it's your choice. You know what's best for yourself.
  12. The coupon is valid on any one item, but not valid on anything that's already marked down.
  13. Looks great! But I wonder why you (or anyone) would put some artificial time limit on yourself? I mean, what's the point? Model building isn't about beating the clock or seeing how fast you can build a model... at least to me it's not.
  14. Why would you ever switch from Mac to PC???
  15. You sure do some very nice work!
  16. I make no political statement. I just thought the photo was pretty funny with that "halo" over his head. Plus, he was on my avatar list...
  17. One of my favorite movies is "Road to Perdition." In one scene you see a view of downtown Chicago looking along the Chicago River, with the bridge for the "el" crossing the river. Then you see an elevated train cross the bridge. The problem? The elevated train has modern-day, stainless steel cars, a design that wasn't in existence in the 1930s, when the movie is supposed to be taking place. Back then the el cars were painted green.
  18. So if "period correct" was thrown out the window, why didn't Gatsby tool around in a Porsche 911?
  19. "Anachronistic mash-up?" Do we add that to the list? (Romantic comedy, action/adventure, film noir, horror, etc)?
  20. Ditto on the crooked hood ornament. Also the wipers need to be moved so they're "parked" along the lower edge of the windshield, not way down where they are.
  21. How do such bonehead mistakes get made? Didn't they do even a basic amount of research?
  22. If only we could invent a car that runs on hot air. Then we'd finally have a use for our federal government!
  23. Looks pretty much what it looks like now.
