  1. The fringe here was done with strips of regular old paper, the fringes cut with an X-acto about 95% of the way to the top edge... not all the way, so that the length of fringe is one solid piece across the top and easy to glue in place. Then the fringe was "roughed up" a bit by running my finger back and forth across it until I got the look I was after... to get the strands a little "messed up" so they don't all hang perfectly straight. (BTW... the "rivets" on the saddlebags and seat are pinheads).
  2. Why was this posted in "Under Glass?"
  3. Since you say you built it "box stock," are those hot rod parts and custom wheels and tires in the box?
  4. Remember... do not post any clues or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1968 Fiat 125 Samantha
  5. Looks great so far. Nice color choices.
  6. No... that's way too stupid! Nobody would ever do that!
  7. The dash looks beautiful!
  8. My son and I spent the day at the Volo Auto Museum. Best day I've had so far this year. We saw a ton of very cool cars, which we both wished we could buy! There's nothing like a father and son spending time together with a shared interest. I hope all you dads out there had a good Father's Day.
  9. Just an FYI... his first name is Francois, his surname is Gasnier. He listed it as last name first, a common European way of doing it.
  10. We've all done stupid things!
  11. Not if you're a Tibetan monk.
  12. A "crustom" Olds?
  13. Third time's the charm?
  14. Yes, exactly!
  15. I like that. Nice color combination with the fenders and wheels. Rick, maybe go with that, and the body the same lighter color as the wheels? So body and wheels the lighter tan, fenders Cordova Brown.
  16. Yeah, even today I still have a negative opinion of them. It's funny that I remember that incident so well after all these years. I mean, I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but that bad experience with their "customer service" has stuck with me all this time. Weird how you remember some things...
  17. This was back when the Ultra-brite stuff was a new product from them. I told them that I had been using their "regular" chrome foil for many years and never had a problem... and that I didn't suddenly forget how to use foil! They still insisted that the problem was that I wasn't doing it right. They never offered a refund or to replace the sheet I bought. So I just never bought another sheet of it.
  18. Tom... in your opinion does Alclad from the spray can look as good as when it's airbrushed?
  19. I really like the interior. Very nice detail in there.
  20. I know that at some point they supposedly fixed the non-sticking problem, but since my experience with it I've never tried the brite stuff again.
  21. Their customer service has really improved! Years ago, I complained to them about the fact that their "Ultra-brite" chrome foil didn't stick. They told me it was my fault because I wasn't doing it right. After that dose of "customer service" from them, I actually did do something right: I never again wasted a dime of my money on that stuff.
