  1. Well, can't say that I blame you for wanting to check with a reliable source.
  2. Oh yeah. I forgot about Al inventing the internet. Has he sold it to al-jazeera yet?
  3. Another problem with online "information" is that it tends to not only be inaccurate at times, but it can actually reinforce one's own inaccurate thinking. For example, no matter what your own personal opinion of anything is, you'll be able to find online sources that agree with your thinking, no matter how outlandish or crazy your ideas may be! So even if you're flat out WRONG on a subject, you can find various online sources that back up your thinking, and reinforce your incorrect ideas. The wrong get "wronger!"
  4. The internet, while it can be an incredible resource, is actually responsible for more incorrect information being passed around than print media ever was... simply by the fact that information can literally be passed around the world just about instantaneously and accessed immediately by millions of people. At least in print media, you'd have to actually see the piece (either own it outright or see it at a friend's house or the library or at school, etc.), so mistakes and incorrect information didn't spread as quickly. But the internet allows anyone to post anything, true or not, and that "information" is accessibly by anyone with access to the internet. There is probably as much BS on the internet as there is solid truths. Like Bill said, you should always try to find several sources before you decide that something you saw online is true. And even then, it still might be wrong, but at the very least don't assume that anything you see online is "automatically" true!
  5. Remember, don't post any hints or answers here! PM me with specific year, make and model. The answer: 2002 Gillet Vertigo
  6. Just remember when posting "sources,"... just because you saw it on the internet doesn't make it so.
  7. Save the guitar string for the guitars. Believe me, you'll like working with the jewelry wire a lot better.
  8. Instead of using stiff guitar string for the trim, use silver beading wire. It's flexible and much easier to work with than guitar string. Who go through all the trouble of heating it, cooling it, blah, blah, blah? Go to the jewelry aisle of Hobby Lobby and you'll find all sorts of silver wire that is so much easier to work with than guitar string.
  9. And that's one of the reasons it looks like a real car and not a model! Terrific work! And as usual, I love your outdoor shots.
  10. Is it really the plastic "bleeding through?" Or more a case of a light color paint needing more coats to fully cover a brightly-colored plastic?
  11. We can't monitor every post. There aren't enough hours in the day. We do the best we can.
  12. ??? I use CA to glue aluminum to styrene all the time. Works well. What am I missing?
  13. I used to have a '91 Stealth RT. I've never owned a Ferrari, or a Porsche, or any other really high-end car, just "regular" cars... but the Stealth was the best car (so far) that I've ever owned. I wish I still had it.
  14. Were they topics that you started? Or posts you made in someone else's topic? In either case, if the topic was posted in the wrong place a moderator probably moved it.
  15. I've had my apartment broken into, rifled through and robbed while I was at work, back when I was just starting out (my early 20s). The front door and door frame was kicked down. I've had my car broken into and the stereo literally ripped out of it while the car was parked in the garage! My son's car was stolen the day after Christmas, 2012 (happy holidays, right?). What's wrong with people? Man, I wish I knew.
  16. Final vote: 14 REAL, 33 MODEL. And it's a MODEL! http://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/xq/ASP/id.DM1541/qx/reviewpix.htm
  17. Let us know how you do. My guess is you'll do just fine.
  18. Welcome, Mike. And keep pushing toward that Eagle Scout rank. That's something you can be very proud of.
  19. Keep looking. They have to be around here somewhere...
  20. Dang! Once again, you are completely correct. Moved.
  21. Oops. my bad. Yes, you are correct. Moved.
  22. That's a very nice model, even though it could never be driven in the rain...
  23. As someone who obsesses about the spacing between radio buttons on a 1/25 scale dash, I'd say you better fill them in or you won't be able to sleep at night!
