  1. Speed is irrelevant. It's the final product that counts, not how fast (or slow) you built it.
  2. Nice looking model!
  3. You can preorder them from modelmotorcars.com for a $100 deposit. http://modelmotorcars.com/html/store/lamborghini/store_lamborghini.htm
  4. Both are very cool, but that Luftwaffe Merc is the bomb! (no pun intended!)
  5. Exactly. The claims made are ridiculous, not provable, and contradictory. Among other silly claims made, the car can't possibly be both a low-miles car that was only driven occasionally until fall of '67 and be a car that was put under cover and into storage since the day it was bought new! (both claims are made in the story!) And the chrome alternator and Offy heads make the claim that it is AN AMAZINGLY ALL ORIGINAL 1967 427/390 4-SPEED CORVETTE COUPE a little hard to swallow. This car is NOT an untouched survivor, as the story infers. It may very well be a genuine very low mile, mostly original '67 Corvette... but the "story" is obviously full of holes, and I'm surprised the car is displayed with all of those dubious claims listed.
  6. You already are!
  7. What are you, British? Tally ho!
  8. Stock '67 Corvettes came with chrome alternators and Offenhauser valve covers???
  9. If you read the story, there are quite a few "questionable" claims made. First it says "THIS CORVETTE WAS LAST DRIVEN REGULARLY IN THE FALL OF 1967!!! IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN ONLY 2,996 MILES FROM NEW ." Then it says " THIS CORVETTE HAS BEEN STORED FROM THE TIME IT WAS PURCHASED NEW ON MAY 20, 1967 UNTIL APRIL 2012, IN THE TOTAL DARKNESS OF A ONE CAR, CLIMATE CONTROLLED GARAGE." So... which is it? It was driven regularly until fall 1967... or it was never driven and stored from the time it was purchased? It can't be both! Also... seatbelts never pulled out of their retractors? How in the world would you ever be able to prove that? Car has never been driven by anyone but the dead owner? Prove it. Car has never been in the rain? Never been washed? Prove it. Only 3 people have ever sat in the driver's seat? Prove it. Receipts for batteries "over the years?" If the car was in storage since the day it was bought and never driven, why would it need batteries replaced over and over? Tires still filled with "1967 air?" Highly doubtful... they would have gone flat many years ago. Lots of questionable claims there...
  10. Here's something else you learned today: This was a question, not a tip or tutorial. So it should have been posted in the QUESTION and answer section.
  11. Diecasts like that are almost always assembled by workers in China. They are assembled "assembly line" fashion... that is, one person does one step (or more) on them all, another person does other step(s), etc.
  12. They're available here
  13. I agree. Isn't copying someone else's design that closely awfully near lawsuit territory?
  14. The car (truck) in the photo is a GAZ M-415, built from 1939-41. Who got it right: wisdonm trogdor george53 Kenny Johnny G Holding ChrisR Balluck13
  15. Cool! And that rear glass hinge detail... nice! (would this have been easier to do using the roof of a Magnum instead?)
  16. If you buy a CO2 tank you'll constantly pay to have it refilled. And you'll run out of air at the most inconvenient times. If you buy a good compressor, you pay for it once. And you'll never run out of air.
  17. Ok, now I see why you left them as is. Thanks for the explanation.
  18. Generally I only build one of any given model. Once I've built one, my interest is off to other subjects. The only exceptions that I can think of offhand are the Monogram 1/8 Jaguar and the Big T (built 2 of each of those).
  19. It's on my list of things to do. Some day. In the future. Far, far away. Probably long after this forum is gone... so unfortunately you'll never get to see it...
  20. I didn't go back to look at the 1:1, but I would suggest that you fill in the little crescent-shaped area on the front of the roof with green. That little pink area looks a little weird, IMO. Aside from that, excellent work on the flames!
  21. The award for "Mr. Obvious 2013!"
  22. Right you are...
  23. With almost 500 replies in this thread, I guess maybe I missed one...
