  1. Ok, I have an idea. While he's gone, let's move the forum so that when he gets back, it'll be gone and he won't know where it went! Hilarious...
  2. The car in the photo is a 2010-12 Chevy Orlando. It was introduced as a concept in Paris in 2008... so if you guessed anywhere from 2008-2012 you get credit. Who got it right: Haubenschild bbsbase wisdonm customsrus patami matthijsgrit Kenny Corvair Jim George 53 Chris R G Holding Badluck13 otherunicorn
  3. In that case I'd already have bought it...
  4. OK... I have to ask... why not paint the "rubber" part of the running boards, etc., before you assemble the parts?
  5. Beautiful work, John. Love the heat staining on the headers. And that steering wheel with the rivets and woodgrain... beautiful. The model could pass as a real car in many of your photos. Another winner from you. No surprise, though. I know that sometimes people point out when you miss the mark a bit as far as specific details or absolute accuracy, but nobody can deny your craftsmanship. You are a true artist.
  6. Totally off topic... but I love the Beach Boys song "In My Room." Thanks, Danno...
  7. None of my grandparents ever owned a car. They were lucky if they owned a bicycle!
  8. And I hear that there are thousands of people who still don't have power back yet! What's up with that?
  9. Is that a '57 Chevy??? I assume it wasn't wrecked by the storm (I don't think the storm ripped the left taillight housing and the rear bumper off)... but still, a weird photo.
  10. I didn't even try to use the new version... I clicked on the "get me back to the way it was" button!
  11. The photos look good, but almost $1500 seems a little steep.
  12. So why don't you just open up a normal checking account somewhere and get yourself a paypal account?
  13. You and me both! New PB is weird. I like the old way, but they're probably not going to give us the option much longer. It'll be the new way or no way...
  14. Deer hunting? Seriously? I know I let a lot of "off topic" stuff get by, but this is so far away from any relevance to model cars, cars, or anything even vaguely automotive-related that I don't see why you would have ever started this topic here?
  15. They have service centers, just like any dealer would. And what are you talking about when you say buying online? You don't buy them online, you buy them from the showroom like any other car.
  16. Posing a hazard? What hazard? Besides emptying out your bank account, I mean. Ba-da-boom! Thank you, ladies and germs... I'm here all week...
  17. So apparently you don't read the sunday Tribune... That's where I saw the story.
  18. Lots of extra work, but that makes sense. Anyway, the result is great... but I'm thinking that in some cases you would want the really shiny "chrome" look of plated kit parts. Of course, that's just me. Your Alclad work is about the best I've seen.
  19. Don't be so sure. They're expanding their network. http://www.teslamotors.com/locations
  20. On an interesting side note... big story in the local paper last Sunday on how Tesla is selling their cars directly to the public. Their dealerships are factory-owned, and not dealer franchises, like the way all other cars are sold. So NADA (National Automobile Dealers Assoc.) is all bent out of shape because Tesla is allowed to bypass the traditional "manufacturer sells to dealer who sells to the public" routine. Tesla's legal explanation is that because there had never been a Tesla dealership network in existence, they are free to sell their cars factory direct and not have to go through a middle man (the dealership network). It could get messy as Tesla expands across the country and opens more and more factory showrooms.
