  1. Don't push yer luck, pal!
  2. You'll have to keep your eyes open.
  3. And there are more great ideas coming in the next few days.
  4. I think the truck guys will like having a place of their own where they can hang out.
  5. The "general" forum for all you truck modelers.
  6. You have a long way to go. You don't get the MCM keychain until you hit 5,000 posts...
  7. Wouldn't that be totally up to you and your own taste? I mean, asking a question like this isn't going to solve anything... you'll get some guys who say paint it, some who say leave it body color, and in the end you haven't really accomplished anything. I don't mean to dump on you, but I don't get why you asked this...

  9. A week or two. You have time.
  10. Yeah, I saw it. That's one I want to use.
  11. This is obviously not a tip or technique. It's a question. Please post in the right place next time... I get tired of moving mis-posted topics day after day...
  12. I'd like to put together a magazine feature showing people's various different builds of the new Moebius Hudson. I'm looking for a wide variety of different takes on the kit... everything from bone stock to custom to NASCAR to rat rod to... whatever! What I specifically need is 2-3 good quality, well lit, clutter-free, in focus photos of your finished Hudson, shot on a clean, empty background... no "on the workbench" messy shots. I'm looking for a 3/4 front view, a 3/4 rear view, and maybe one more shot of your choice. Photos must be high quality, high resolution and good enough for print reproduction. I also would need a short (1-2 paragraph) description of what you did… what paints used, any scratchbuilding, etc. No payment for this one... getting your model in the magazine would be all the "payment" we offer in this case. If you're ok with that, and want your model considered, PM me (do NOT post your photos here!) I need material fairly quickly... let's say within a week or two? Come on, you Hudson fans. We want to show the world your work!
  13. Impossible to say. What does "all" the bells and whistles include? How much aftermarket stuff? PE? Resin? Both? How much paint? What brand/type? Aftermarket decals? It varies greatly from model to model, no two would be alike. Also depends on the individual's building style. Out of the box? Curbside? Full-blown detail? As you can see, there's no way possible to come up with an answer, because the answer is different for everyone.
  14. Recessed panel lines... correct. Recessed rivets? Not so much. Big mistake in such an otherwise well-engineered and incredibly detailed kit.
  15. Are all the "rivets" on the wings actually depressed instead of raised? It sure looks that way in the photos.
  16. Any particular reason why this wasn't posted in the NASCAR section?
  17. Petty cool... it's nice to see a model of a car that you almost never see a model of... but I have to wonder about all the goobers in the paint in the rear view? BTW... I moved this to "Under Glass."
  18. Exactly! There's no way a kit manufacturer would pay a staffer or staffers to search for information, post it on a web page, and constantly update it, for every kit they made! Unless they could charge for the information (as in a pay-per-view site or some sort of subscription), there's no way they would go to the trouble, time and expense to supply those resources to us at no charge. And if they did charge for it, how many people do you think would be willing to pay for it, again, given the fact that it's all out there already... for free! Your idea is good in theory... lousy in "real world" practicality.
  19. The snag is like I said: any information the manufacturers could put on the disk is already on the web, free for the asking. Reference photos? Hundreds, probably thousands. Restoration sites that chronicle the restoration of a car in step-by-step photographic detail. Old car brochures, paint chips, examples of other people's builds, technical specs, etc. It's all already out there and free for anyone who wants to go get it. That's the problem... not that a disk of that sort of information wouldn't be a nice thing to have, but the fact that most people realize that all that stuff is already available for free. Getting people to pay extra for stuff they can get free would be a very tough, if not impossible, sell for any manufacturer.
  20. Most of the stuff you mentioned is already available for free online. It's all just a google search away. The kit manufacturers would have a very hard time convincing us that a CD-ROM of "extras" is worth paying for, when we can get it all for free online.
