  1. You're a riot, Alice...
  2. To quote the old Animals song... "We gotta get out of this place... if it's the last thing we ever do!"
  3. Necessary for Top Fuel... but not Funny Cars, which are basically the same thing under the skin? Agree to disagree.
  4. Still... if "safety" was the overriding factor, NHRA rules would mandate all cars be rear-engine, and all catastophic engine failures would be behind the driver. So obviously safety isn't the main factor.
  5. You're killing me. It's still snowing in these parts...
  6. Not buying that for a minute. At 300 MPH, if the blower explodes, doesn't matter if you're several inches further back. You're going to get a faceful of shrapnel.
  7. Any cast piece will have a mold seam. It's all about removing it before plating. Send him the idea and ask for a royalty...
  8. I didn't know the Funny Car class even allowed rear-engine cars. And if it was in the interest of driver safety, why aren't all Funny Cars today rear-engine, like Top Fuelers are? Shouldn't Funny Car drivers be a safe as Top Fuel drivers?
  9. That's a pretty crazy explanation. Not sure if I can believe it or not.
  10. The rack itself could be easily cast, maybe the legs cast separately.
  11. The luggage rack turned out great. Looks like something Marvin should offer...
  12. I know it's not your fault, because the kit doesn't include any mirrors, either inside or out. Too bad, because the lack of mirrors always detracts from the finished model. But like I said, not your fault. Beautifully done!
  13. You are in a very small minority. Most people want the free stuff.
  14. Ok, that pig truck is just sick...
  15. Who knew how popular pigs are in the transportation field!
  16. Aside from just being different, what was the theory behind a rear-engine funny car? They obviously weren't successful, so why did they exist? Just wondering, not meant as a comment on your model at all.
  17. Personally, every photo I've ever posted here was first saved to my PB album(s), then the URL link to the photo was posted here. It's the only way I've ever done it, and since 2006 every single photo I've ever posted here is still here.
  18. Is there any logic to Macy's having a pink pig monorail? I mean as opposed to say, a yellow duckie monorail? Is there a story behind this?
  19. If you post photos from anywhere other than your PB account, you have no control over them staying or disappearing. For example, if you post a photo you found on another website, and that website removes the photo from their site, it also disappears from here. Or if you post a photo from someone else's photo hosting site, and that person moves or deletes that photo, it will disappear from here, too.
  20. Pretty nice overall... but body-color wipers? Really?
  21. Yeah, that's a pretty cool dio, I've seen it before. But I prefer the "DIY" way...
  22. He is definitely on my list of good guys. He was a pleasure to deal with. Professional, courteous, friendly... the kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with.
