  1. Shame on you for reading that "other" magazine...
  2. Remember, though, you can always add whatever color you like on top of the texture paint... so it doesn't really matter if the texture paint only comes in black or white.
  3. If you have any questions regarding your subscription call 303-296-1600 and they'll take care of you.
  4. I agree! I never did understand why so many people use such complicated, convoluted "systems" to create a vinyl top with taping, cutting, etc. when it's so easy to do with just a can of spray paint held a distance away to create the texture!
  5. What kind of thrift stores are you talking about? I never heard of a thrift store that sells animal hides! Or are you talking about old gloves, leather skirts and things like that?
  6. Either just spray the roof from a distance to get orange peel, or try faux fabric texture paint. Color, of course, is up to you. Or overcoat the fabric paint with any color you want, maybe a semigloss final color if the fabric paint doesn't come in the color you need.
  7. Sorry to hear about that, but... WELCOME BACK!!!
  8. That's a really good model of a really ugly car!
  9. You need to paint the front side marker lights amber, not red, and rear-view mirrors.
  10. Looks good! I like the cream-colored wheels with the black body, nice choice.
  11. That would look good... nice contrast between the seats and the carpet.
  12. Gold with a white interior...
  13. It's beginning to come together. Excuse the mess and the dust... the old girl is still in the shop awaiting a few finishing touches... but it's getting close! How do you like that high-tech parking brake in the photo above?
  14. ok, you're not building a "model car" here... You're building a real car, it just happens to be 8 times smaller than the original. I don't think there's anything I could say about your work... the photos speak for themselves. This is model making at a level far above and beyond what us regular humans can ever hope to achieve. Move over, Gerald Wingrove!
  15. So how did you get the lights to look like they're on?
  16. Um... that's Willys.
  17. Plaster???!!! For cutting-edge technology, that's mighty old school! But hey... it works!
  18. Wow! What a surprise to see you here! I can say with utmost confidence that the members here are in for a real treat once you start posting here!
  19. The whole point of a supercharger is to force air into the combustion chambers at a level above normal air pressure... in other words, to mechanically "ram" the air into the cylinders via the screws inside the housing. Orienting the access hole for the supercharger's air intake to the rear is going to defeat the whole point of a supercharger, which needs to gulp as much air as possible in order for it to have the desired effect.
  20. The air wasn't going to "turn" forward into the scoop. You should have cut an opening along the lower edge of the windshield to allow air into a forward-facing scoop, or raise the scoop opening high enough to clear the lower edge of the windshield. If backwards scoops actually worked, everybody would be using them!
  21. Same here. How did you make those? They are incredible. What you need now is a vintage gas station diorama to put them in, and a few vintage cars around, too.
  22. Your photo skills have sure improved!
  23. Yeah, the material comes in the kit... but you still have to DO the upholstering! The seats don't upholster themselves! But anyway, those are aftermarket resin seats, not the kit seats, and that is NOT the leather you get in the kit. The kit leather is way too thick, I could never have gotten the pleats like that with the Pocher stuff. I found this material at Hobby Lobby in the fabric section. Much thinner, much more flexible, and I could create the piping that with the thick Pocher material would have been impossible.
  24. Oh yes, it can...
