  1. Ira, are you a child of the 60's..?? Do your wild, imaginative ideas come to you in "flashbacks"...??? All kidding aside...... You do some fantastic work.
  2. Great looking car Ron. Nice job. It's always fun to make a model of a car that you once owned.
  3. That is looking great so far Robert.
  4. Love that color. Nice job.
  5. You'll have to make your own inner door panels (as has been said here) as the details molded to the interior doors are barely there. Here's how I did mine using sheet plastic, BMF & flocking...
  6. Tulio, that car looks great.
  7. You got that right Harry.
  8. Those are looking pretty sharp John.
  9. Duplicolor paints are lacquer. You need the prime/sealer, the color coat of your choice, and the gloss clearcoat. Give each one at least a full day to dry.
  10. My guess is that he paid A LOT for those seats. I think the short haired woman next to Ringo & Barbara was George Harrison's wife.
  11. You're off to a great start on this build Art. Looking forward to seeing more.
  12. I thought that the show was really great. The tribute songs performed by the various groups and performers were well done. Paul and Ringo's performances at the end were worth waiting for IMHO. Overall it was fun to reminisce about watching that Ed Sullivan show back in '64. I recall my stepfather thinking that I was crazy for liking "those sloppy looking longhaired kids." (He used to like the Lawrence Welk Show....YUCK) They weren't sloppy looking at all in their suits. I wound up buying myself a Hofner Bass guitar a couple of years later. Everyone wanted to be in a band back then. The Beatles sure changed the music scene.
  13. John this is looking great. You're blowing us all away with all of your fantastic detailing. Go man go...!!!
  14. Yeah, that darn "S" word...... another few inches.... As has been said already, Where's all that global warming..??
  15. That looks just super Peter. Great job.
  16. Max, that looks really great. Nice job.
  17. What irked me today...??? It's snowing again......need I say more..!!!
  18. That's a great looking model Alan. FYI, the 'AMT '55 and/or '57 Chevy interiors fit pretty well into these '55 & '56 Pontiac Promos. Of course you have to modify the dashboards a bit. Like Mark I also love doing up these Johan promos. There is a LOT less work involved to finish up these curbsides.... quick and easy.
  19. That's a great looking car Paul.
  20. That looks really great Sam. I can't wait to get one of these kits.
  21. No Carl, the Baby Blue paint on the car was Krylon enamel so lacquer clear would definitely not have worked. I was really surprised when the Krylon Acrylic Clear bubbled up on the enamel. I guess it was a little hotter than I thought it would be. Next time around I'll use an enamel clearcoat.
  22. Sincere condolences on your loss.
  23. Had to start over on this. I sprayed Krylon Acrylic Clear over the body and it bubbled up all over the Krylon Baby Blue. So into the stripper it went. ...... I hate doing things twice...!!!
  24. Thanks everyone. Carl, I wound up using a color called Depot Buff by Floquil/Polly S. It is a water based, dead flat paint used in model railroading. I clearcoated it with Model Master gloss clear enamel. John, be patient...... at least it's painted and clearcoated now. Tom, you're right in calling it "baby poo". That's exactly what we used to call the color of the real car. I'm being patient with this so I can try to get it looking as close as I can to the 1:1 car.
