  1. Beautifully designed & built ! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this come together. The only thing l would do is add a circle of BMF to the cam(?) covers to brighten up the lower part of the engine & tie it in with the heads & push rods. The lime ice looks great on this. Bart
  2. LOVE it !
  3. Stunning paint, Rich ! '58s are possibly my favorite Fords, & the blue really pops on these beautiful lines. Nice work on the tube grille as well. This should be a real knock-out when finished ! Bart
  4. l remember a scratch build in a magazine in the early '70s, the mag could have been older. It had those tires on it & was a Model T type of car with a very low, almost lndy car looking nose. It almost had to be rear engined, but l can't remember specifics about that. My guess is it must've been Richard Carroll ? That article/build inspired me to branch out & ty new things. I cut the sidewalls off of 4 NASCAR tires & tried to glue them together. I ended up using some kind of black goop from the garage that never dried, lol ! I "deepened" rims for them using inner rims glued to Cragar SS rims. The whole set up looked like dookie, but l was so proud ! Bart
  5. Looking good, Jim. Awesome job on the Carson top. The engine is really cool. I'm using those valve covers in a '55 Chevy sedan, they came out really well.
  6. Another winner, Jim ! Love the color & the wood bed gives it extra class ! Very nice build. Bart
  7. Looking great !
  8. How fitting, l'm a BIG ZZ Top fan & will actually be in La Grange later today ! This is the 1st brand new kit l've been excited about in a long time ! You have my attention ! Bart
  9. Show 'em how it's done, lra ! You gonna have some apehangers, like it or not ! My kinda putt ! Bart
  10. ^ l think we have a winner ! All good points in this thread, but this one makes the most sense to me. Especially with the visual "evidence".
  11. Easy mistake. A lot of us thought the same thing upon 1st (mis)reading it, lol !
  12. It's not a rat rod. "Rat Roaster", as in: roasts cars with rat motors.
  13. Cool ! Anybody wanna trade the rims & guitar from their kit, PM me.....PLEASE !!
  14. My 1st choice was E. But being a Harley fanatic, gotta go with G ! Tasty workmanship !!! I still think it needs an old phonograph somewhere, hehehe ! Bart
  15. I LOVE '58s ! I prefer 2-doors, but l have to applaud the extra EXTRA effort it's gonna take to do a more door ! You have my attention ! Bart
  16. Nice work, but it's a '69.
  17. No problem,Glu. I almost never swear !!!
  18. I've also had good results using orange and/or yellow green as an accent with purple. Anything that even leans toward yellow usually looks good. l've also lightened up the purple to an almost lavender for a 2-tone.
  19. Yellow is purples complimentary color.
  20. I will definitely check out the H.A.M.B. I almost never build anything newer than 1970, so it sounds like a good fit for me. Actually, other than 2 '71 Dusters, the only kits newer were bought only for parts ! I never realized that !
  21. Fantastic ! Thanks guys. It is the suicide front axle l will be using. Thanks for the pics. And don't worry, Bill. I'll be using only the highest quality styrene, so l'll be safe, lol !
  22. I don't know much about these types of hot rods, I'm not even sure if suicide & underslung are the same thing ? l'm working on a '32 Ford & would like to build a suicide front end. All the pics l can find don't show enough detail for me to understand what's going on. All l know is l like the forward extension of the front tires & lowered ride. Can anyone point me in the right direction to achieve this ? Thanks, Bart
  23. Awesome concept & execution ! It sure looks like it was an ordeal to get everything where it belongs, but it looks fantastic ! Love the snakeskin......& the fangs !!! Bart
  24. Nice truck ! I have 3 L-700s in the stash. Have all but the wheels l want for the first one. What did you use for the air lines, they look very convincing ! Bart
