  1. This is looking amazingly accurate ! Seems to me there might be an old phonograph to listen to music & maybe a box of old "78s". I remember how excited my Dad was in the early '70s to get a new console for the home. He seemed more excited that he got the old one to put in the garage. For this time period the old "system" might well have been a phonograph ?
  2. l like the potential of this project. Look forward to your progress. Bart
  3. Hmmmmm......l wonder what '58 Plymouth fins would look like grafted onto the bed ??
  4. ^ That makes sense ! Was MPC's '68 really labelled as a "Cheyenne" ? Chevy didn't introduce the Cheyenne line until '71(?), shouldn't it have been a CST ? Stretching the frame & shimming the camper up to cab height seems the way to go. Bart
  5. Looking great so far ! Should look awesome all tucked in. Bart
  6. Really taking shape, lra ! Miraculous Mutha would be proud !!!
  7. lt makes perfect sense for the cab to be older. you'd by the truck before you bought the camper or else you'd have nowhere to put the camper ! So you bought a new camper to put on a 5-10 year old truck that you already had ! Problem solved !
  8. I just got a "parts pack" in the mail that came in the '68 RR pro street box. It came with Good-Year drag radials. That makes at least 6 different pro street rear tires that l know of-- in 5 sizes.
  9. The paint is Dupli-color Metal Specks blue. I'm the impatient type, so the tape wasn't on for more than 2 hours. Perhaps l burnished it down too much ? I always clearcoat between colors to seal against bleed off, but only recently learned this trick so l'm still used to masking down hard. I'll hopefully know better next time ! Bart
  10. I ran out of blue tape, so l used Tartan (cheap) masking tape for a vinyl top job. Now there's thick residue that's not washing off ! I'm afraid if l keep scrubbing l'll damage the perfect body color paint. Any ideas on how to remove the tape's glue residue ? Thanks in advance for any help. Bart
  11. Apparently, global warming makes school buses hotter inside ?!
  12. Haha ! I just saw this thread ! Didn't know what "Gamers" meant, so l had to check it out. lt's like trying to read a foreign language, l can only imagine how long it must take to learn the actual games ! l played pong in the early '70s & was amazed at the technology, then went outside & played ball. My 17 year old has guitar hero but hasn't played with it for about 3 years ? My 11 year old never has been interested. But we'll take you on in volleyball, basketball, baseball or football, just not in the house........things tend to get broken !
  13. Pretty nice stuff. Good luck competing with the computer generated, though. All you need is computer skills these days-natural born talent has become obsolete ! Believe me l know ! Stick with painting saws before the computer geeks figure out how to take that over, too. If they haven't already, lol ! Better yet, learn all the art software !
  14. This turned out great ! Nice paint, decals & stance. Thanks for the great engine shots ! Are those the kit valve covers ? Mine are smooth, l like the fins better. Does anyone cast these ? It looks fast & ready to launch ! Bart
  15. Oh boy ! One of my favorite cars in one of my favorite colors !
  16. I really dig this ! '60s Mopars are in my blood & on my workbench lately. Crazy paint, hemi, mag 500s ! All nice touches to bring this up-to-date. Beautiful work ! Bart
  17. Lotsa groovy cars being built here! I'm gonna keep my eye on this one !
  18. YESSIR ! Right up my alley ! I can't tell from the 1st mock-up, Mopar power ?
  19. Another winner ! My daughter loves them as well. She wants one for her toy horse collection ! I explained they weren't toys but she insists she wouldn't play with it, lol. They look a bit fragile, but SO realistic. Fine job !
  20. This is a model l've wanted for a while. I like where you're taking it. I'm starting my 1st resin build as well, so l'm interested on a few levels ! I hadn't heard about your transporter--that sux ! Are you going 2-tone light blue & white ?
  21. Keep 'em rollin', Harry. I would never have thought l would enjoy these so much ! Never been my idea of a "real" model, but after seeing the detail that has gone into them--and the history lessons-- l have a lot of respect for them.
