  1. This is something l never thought of before, but l can see possibilities with brown paper of some sort ? Butchers paper, brown envelopes perhaps ?
  2. What is available in rattle cans that comes close to matching B-5 Blue? I have Testors Saphire Blue metal flake, but it seems a tad dark to my eyes. Thanks in advance, Bart.
  3. ...........l am. l scratch-brew my own beer !!!!
  4. PM sstacey47. He casts an Arias hemi out of a truck pulling kit-couple that with his underhood injected blower set up & you would have a uniquely Sinister powerplant that should fit under that power "bulge" ! LOVE what you've done so far, please keep it up, Bart.
  5. ............Remember when coffee was strictly a noun ? l've never "coffeed" with anyone. Terminology is constantly changing. l assume you don't use scissors & glue to cut & paste on a computer? l also am bothered at times by the misuse of scratch built. But how literally are we to take this ? Do l need to be a chemist to make my own plastic, or a metallurgist to smelt or forge my own metal parts ? It would be nice if scratch built stayed the way it is now: fabricating your own parts from existing materials, but l fear this special word will continue to evolve just as our beloved hobby has. Sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad. Bart.
  6. Far out, David!! lt's looking fantastic! Nice hinge.
  7. .......Steve Kohler is my go to 1st guy for all my kit & resin needs. He will go above & beyond to make you happy & his prices & shipping costs & time can't be beat! l have also dealt with Dave Neighbors for hard to find parts (Newtsboneyard.com) ? who sent me a few tools & supplies free of charge a year ago to help me get back into the hobby. l have spoken to both on the phone at length......Great guys!! Bart.
  8. l've been wanting one of these. My plan was to shorten it, drop it & set a blown hemi in it. M/T Sportsmans & Front Runners on Cragar Drag Stars. Bart.
  9. Hey Bill, l remember this build now. You've done so much nice work since l last saw it, l didn't recognize it! Glad l could help out with the rims! Keep up the good work! Bart.
  10. l wish l could post pics! l have a '67 1/2 "Palamino" l started a few months back. l used a junk '67 lmpala body, cut the roof & deck lid off, leaving the rear, vertical part of the trunk in place. Next l cut the roof & top edge of the bed/tailgate from a '68 (hence '67 1/2) el Camino. l cut it to fit the curves of the lmpala's rear fenders & got it very close to perfect! Very little putty/filler will be involved. l will also be able to use the el Camino's bed floor & inner walls. So far it looks like GM could have made it. l had planned on building it as a factory stock phantom (is that an oxymoron?) car. l don't think the hot-rodder in me will allow that though!
  11. Geno, l can't wait! This is the 1st kit l ever built & l recently aquired a repop to re-live this kit. l love the "factory" grille work. Any power plant thoughts? Bart.
  12. .......Hey Brian, check with Sean (sstacey47). He casts an underhood blown, injected set up for a BBC. l easily adapted it to a 426 hemi & it looks wicked! l'm sure it would be even easier to adapt it to a 455. Just a thought. Bart
  13. l wish this was the grocery grabber at my house!!! l do most of the shopping! Very authentic factory phantom! Kudos. lt's hard to go wrong with a Mopar wagon. Everything you've done from the options to the color is perfect; just how l would've ordered mine. Bart........OK, l might have gotten AC.
  14. !!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Dave, your woodie looks awesome! Don't sweat the breakage! l boxed mine up til l gained more patience. That, l've heard, comes with age too. l'm still waiting! Can't wait to see this come together. Bart
  16. Nice job, Mr. Jenkins! l would have guessed you were a "Grumpy" fan!.......Sorry, couldn't resist!
  17. l'll follow along here. this is the only way l'd build the Olds kit & have been waiting for someone to do it 1st so l can watch, lol! Thanks for sharing. lt looks very smooth. The roof looks a little high in the rear compared to the 1:1 car l want to replicate, but it's a custom & may have been massaged/chopped somewhat. At any rate, you have done a very nice job grafting here! Please keep it up. Bart
  18. .......This build is really looking HOT! Hey Brian, at least you have hobby shops! My closest is about a 140 mile round trip! l rely on the USPS for all my needs. Just sayin'-it could be worse, my styrene brother! Build on!!!
  19. .......l did too! Mine was a 383 4-speed. Very nice, convincing build. What color did you use? It looks like a dead on match! l have a built-up l plan on replicating my old one with.....some day, lol!
  20. Please keep this going, Bruce! lt's a beautiful, one of a kind build! Hemi? One can never have too many hemis! Bart.
  21. Definitely forward thinking!! l have no love for fwd cars, but you might be changing that with this one! Bart.
  22. l'll watch this one, my sister-in-law would LOVE to have a replica of her old 1:1! Please keep up the nice work! Bart.
  23. l can relate with the sanding problems, Dave! l'm stretching my doors to coupe length & l'm NOT digging on the sanding process! l followed your lead & got a couple Wagon Rods for parts LOVE your suspension work! l think l'm gonna cheat & use the W.R. kit frame & susp~ please keep up the Fantastic work!!!!! Thanks for the tips~Bart.
  24. !!!!!
  25. Very nice build. Looks perfect to me. ls this kit similar to Revell's T-1 Samba, & if so, was it hard to lower? Bart.
