  5. You can use clear coat just spray it on lightly with even coats about 20 minutes apart. The reason It's called Hot is because it dries fast because of the amount of Thinner in it. Just take it easy and you shouldn't have a problem. I usually Thin mine out a little using an airbrush. But if your shooting through a can you can' do that. 38 Crush
  6. Len, I use Plasticote primer, but the nuumber is 19000 and 19001 (white & Gray sandable primer) I've never seen T235. But, I swear on Plasticote It works great! I know many out there use Duplicolor but for me that's the worst primer I ever used. If the T235 is grainier Does is sand good? and does it work good as a barrier? 38 Crush

  11. Does any know what company made a '66 Impala in 1/25 scale. I have one that came without a box and no identification printed on the model. Yea, It's any old glueboom. Going to try and restore it. 38 Crush
  12. Ben, If you don't have alot of money to spend and still want to get a good brush do this. Get the sunday paper and find the Michaels ad. They usually have a coupon for 50% discount on any one item in the store. They carry several air brushes. I also use a Badger 175 Cresendo airbrush. In my opinion it's the best and it can be had at half price. Then go to harbor frt. and you should be able to get a decent air compressor for around %50-$60.00 or also check e-bay but there you have to pay shipping. The Problem with air cans is that as you start spraying the can gets cold, Real cold, and the air pressure goes down to almost nothing. Then you have to wait till the can warms back up before you can continue to spray. 38 Crush

  15. My first car kit was a Revell/Amt 1955 Buick. Built it some time in 1955. It was molded in red plastic and I painted it white (no Primer) with a brush. Think about that one for awhile!!.....yck!! 38 Crush
  16. Well, I want to thank you guys, You've given me alot to think about. I'll try and send some pics if it turns out! 38 Crush
  17. Thanks Guys, Now I'm not sure what to do! Mostly I paint with Testors enamals and the past I've used Testors clears. But, I had a bad experience after painting a Corvette white and clearing it with Boyds high gloss clear. within a year it was starting to yellow and continues to do so. I also noticed it also yellows in the bottle. So I thought I would try something different. The car I doing is an original AMT '58 Ford hardtop. It is true blue pearl with a pearl white top. It's the top I'm most worried about. 38 Crush
  18. I would like to clear coat my project with Tamiya clear shot through an airbrush. However most of the hobby shops around here don't carry Tamiya thinner for acrilics. I've heard you can use isopropal alcohal in its place, is this true? If so, what percentage alcohal (70% 90%??) works best. 38 Crush
  19. Check out www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html they have the instructions sheets you need. 38 Crush
  20. Thanks guys, I think what 99GT is talking about is the Blue 36 shown several times in various places. It is shown with the custom headlights and fender skirts. 38 Crush
  21. Can anyone tell me if the top is chopped on this kit? The picture on the box looks as if the top is stock, but the pictures of the kit layed out seems to indicate it is chopped. If I'm not mistaken I think it was originaly chopped. 38 Crush

  23. Well, I might as well put my Two cents worth in. I know I'm going to get a lot of flack about this because there are alot of younger subscribers on board BUT, I noticed That the last Six issue buildups have been about sport cars. UCK!!! and franklly I'm sick of them. When the mag arrived my friends and I started thinking" Model Sports Cars Magazine" just got Here. If it isn't sports cars it's muscle cars.Sorry, but there are more people out here than the young guns!! 38 Crush
