  1. Hey I live in Oregon, What can I say!! California prices have always been higher. LOL! In any case my point is still made. If your not rich, buy a car or build a model 38 Crush
  2. It all comes down to one thing and that's MONEY In most cases you can buy a finished car alot cheaper than you can build it! Especially when you concider setting up a shop, all YOUR man hours(10-20 dollars per hr) put into the car not to mention what the pros charge for paint and upholstery. 38 Crush
  3. Man I sure hope you're wrong 38 Crush
  4. The question I have is if according to the site given to us by Drew ( who I believe is a judge for this) does this quote from the hub site mean this time frame on purchasing a kit should be concidered the word. "However, for those of you on the Hub, here’s a little insider info: You can buy any of the qualifying kits NOW and start building either a box stock or modified category model because we’ve extended the contest period to allow retailers to take advantage of the Holiday season in selling kits. So hang on to your receipt, as you’ll need it to verify that you purchased a kit, but other than that, go ahead and start building" 38 crush
  5. Hey Jairus, Haven't seen you since the last NNL. Are they keeping you busy? I've got something I'm working on just for you. Hope you like it! 38 Crush
  6. Yep, That was it! Wonder what ever happened to that? For a first time show it wasn't THAT bad. I remember just waiting for that to come on. I was really excited. Man those were the days! 38 Crush
  7. Several years ago. I want to say the 80's there was a 30 minute TV show devoted intirely to model building. I believe it was called something like Scale Modeling or something like that. Some of the older guys might remember it. I think it went the standard 13 week run and then it was gone. I think it was national because I was receiving it in Oregon.... I think? 38 Crush
  8. Hey, Guess what, I found it !!! There's only one problem. Revell, only has six(6) hours to meet their schedule. Gee I wonder if they'll make it? 38 Crushed again
  9. Boy, Even after 575 Views I still don't know when this new kit is due up. I keep seeing pics of it in lots of magazines but it's not on anyones production schedule for 2011. Wonder what gives? Maybe it's really not going to happen. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make room in the reffer for something else besides THAT case. Ha!!! 38 Crushed
  10. Does anyone know when this is actually due out on the shelves? I've heard about it's coming, but no one seems to know when. I want to get my case order in early. 38 Crush
  11. The "Base" your talking about is the actual metalizer color ( in this case aluminum Plate) and the clear is just to help to keep from the Base color from coming off. But if you use it it dulls the finish. The one thing I've learned is the longer you wait to lightly buff it the less paint comes off. And for some reason some color coat will always want to come off so you have to be carful handling the part. 38 Crush
  12. I buy mine from any paint or body shop supplier. We have two in our town. Their the same place all the local body shops get their supplies. Most towns or cities have them. Check the yellow pages. Some are good and will help you find what you need and others cant be bothered. A lot of HOK paints can be purchased in 4oz bottles through these stores. Prices are usually not too high but not cheap either. The main thing is you can get them! 38 Crush
  13. I'd drive that too!!.....Off a cliff. 38 Crush
  14. Well, I thought they were not in business but then at my age I have a hard time thinking at all. I wish they would come back they had some pretty great stuff and not all were cars. 38 Crush
  15. So are they still producing Kits? Up here in the northwest their kits are going for a premium because there aren't any ! 38 Crush
  16. I think they probably went out of business before it could go to market. What I find interesting is the fact that the Accurate Miniatures logo on the top of the box doesn't have their name on it but the one on the bottom does. 38 Crush
  17. Does anyone have a picture of the box of either one of these kits? 38 Crush
  18. Boy, I've never heard of the white & Blue version and I've got a list of Accurate Miniatures kits and it's not on it. 38Crush
  19. Only Two that I know of Because I've got both. One is white the other is blue. I can't think of the names right now. Both kit were actually the same just different decals and a few other items like the hood, I think. 38 Crush
  20. Ok Ben here is an Item number on E-Bay that has this kit 360175200538 Or you might check with Dave at D's and see if this kit is still avaiable. 38 crush
  21. Well Ben Looks like that answered the question. I think I might try the white and see what it does. (I'm sure I'll have to order it) I'll let you know how it works with the finish I start with. 38 Crush
  22. Gee ! I'm suprise no one reads Kustom and Hot Rod Models magazine. Your really missing out! 38 crush
  23. You could probably use the 37 chev body and reshap the side windows and then use the front part of the 34 (same as 35) with the 37 body. Might work? 38Crush
  24. Star Models makes a '34 coupe in 1/25th scale. What you've got in your pics is a '35 second series. The first series had the body of a '34 but mid '35 chevy changed over to the '36 body but left the '35 front end. 38 crush
  25. I think Greg should Home school us on the language !! 38 Crush
