  1. Great job on the build! Mine is now a shelf queen, which will eventually be a rusted out diorama. -Steven
  2. Thanks for sharing, I will have to try this method. I use a mix of India Ink and 91% alcohol, and I apply it using a tooth-pick. I will sharpen the point a little bit, and I will let the tip soak in the mixture for about 30 seconds. I use a high quality cotton bud, the smaller ones you can purchase for modeling to clean up the excess. -Steven
  3. I want to thank everyone for the replies! I will be giving these suggestions a try, and I will post the results. Thanks Again, -Steven
  4. Good Day Folks! I apologize if this has been asked or discussed in another thread. Is there a tutorial or a template for making a bracket for those "Floating" altenators in Revell kits? One takes the time to detail and wire the motor with plug wires, but these motors look odd having a alternator floating in mid-air. Thanks in advance for any help, -Steven
  5. Me lady, does not really have a hobby, but she loves Hockey both on TV and going to games, and she is great at giving me suggestions on my Model Railroad, and other projects she has good taste -Steven
  6. In my opinion, The mid 80's Mote Carlo's are one of the best looking NASCAR's. They had a "mean" look about them... Well, maybe it was because Dale was driving one of them -Steven
  7. If this is the hobby shop I am thinking of, I spent a lot of time there in my youth when they were still in Cudahy. I would get $2.00 worth of candy fish, and browse the isles. Very freindly folks for sure! -Steven
  8. Good Day Folks! I finally decided to have a go at at this kit. This is one of my "Dream Rides" I would love to own a 1:1. -Steven
  9. I am thinking, that I may have to put this kit on shelf, till I get a few more builds completed. I made it to Part 3: Basic Chassis - I can't figure out Step 2: Crossmember braces how they are suppose to be attached , and I can't even find step 4 on the sprue tree - Below is a link to the instructions, if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. http://www.round2models.com/files/instructions/amt620.pdf
  10. Thanks JImB for the response! Even though there are no numbers, the build is coming together. -Steven
  11. Good Day Folks! Have a few questions about this kit. 1) What color should I paint the diesel engine (I want to use the Cummins "gold" color) but not sure what paint to buy. It can be acrylic or enamel. 2) I am kind of a new builder, is it common for level 3 kits, NOT to have part numbers on the spur? It's a little difficult, trying to match the part to the picture :-) Thanks in advance, -Steven
  12. I read somewhere, JR is getting his own show. - I don't watch TV much anymore, I rather be at the bench building. When I do watch TV, I like to watch Military or Railroad stuff, and of course videos of your build and how-to's. -Steven
  13. This is exactly the kit I was looking for, as this was my first pick-up, except mine was Chevy Orange, my brother had painted when it was his truck. Do you know if this kit is still available? -Steven
  14. Thank You for the reply, I am on my 3rd attempt, but refuse to give up :-) I think I may need a stronger magnifier. -Steven
  15. Very detailed build! This one is my current project, I am also building OOB for the most part. What is your technique for the hubs, it's been driving me crazy trying to paint the word Chevolet in red. -Steven
  16. Wow Amazing, I remember these trucks, in the neighborhood I grew up in, except they were green. I am going to attempt this build in the future, as it brings back good memories. -Steven
  17. For those who do use these low cost craft paints, what are you using to thin them for use in the airbrush? What is your mix ratio? The reason I am asking is, I am new to using an airbrush, and was thinking it would be for learning techniques. -Steven
  18. Good Luck on the move! I know the feeling, we bought our house last year, and now I have 2 hobby areas. Can't wait till I have enough money saved up, to start my dream Model Railroad layout. -Steven
  19. I am currently working on this kit. Yours is looking awesome! I am stuck, on the interior, as I never built a semi. -Steven
  20. Thanks for the reply Brian, I have that color in my stash. -Steven
  21. Good Day Folks! I was wondering what color "tan" would you recommened for the engine on this kit? It states to use tan, I normally use Tamiya paints. Am I going to have to make a custom tan? or just use strait tan color out of the jar? Thanks in advance, -Steven
  22. Nice job on the build, Cale is my all time favaroite driver. -Steven
