WigWag Workshop replied to Dominik's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great job on the build! Mine is now a shelf queen, which will eventually be a rusted out diorama. -Steven -
Coloring in your panel lines
WigWag Workshop replied to Tompidom's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks for sharing, I will have to try this method. I use a mix of India Ink and 91% alcohol, and I apply it using a tooth-pick. I will sharpen the point a little bit, and I will let the tip soak in the mixture for about 30 seconds. I use a high quality cotton bud, the smaller ones you can purchase for modeling to clean up the excess. -Steven -
I want to thank everyone for the replies! I will be giving these suggestions a try, and I will post the results. Thanks Again, -Steven

Good Day Folks! I apologize if this has been asked or discussed in another thread. Is there a tutorial or a template for making a bracket for those "Floating" altenators in Revell kits? One takes the time to detail and wire the motor with plug wires, but these motors look odd having a alternator floating in mid-air. Thanks in advance for any help, -Steven

In my opinion, The mid 80's Mote Carlo's are one of the best looking NASCAR's. They had a "mean" look about them... Well, maybe it was because Dale was driving one of them -Steven

mom and pop vs. big hobby shop
WigWag Workshop replied to Q tip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If this is the hobby shop I am thinking of, I spent a lot of time there in my youth when they were still in Cudahy. I would get $2.00 worth of candy fish, and browse the isles. Very freindly folks for sure! -Steven -
I am thinking, that I may have to put this kit on shelf, till I get a few more builds completed. I made it to Part 3: Basic Chassis - I can't figure out Step 2: Crossmember braces how they are suppose to be attached , and I can't even find step 4 on the sprue tree - Below is a link to the instructions, if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. http://www.round2models.com/files/instructions/amt620.pdf

Good Day Folks! Have a few questions about this kit. 1) What color should I paint the diesel engine (I want to use the Cummins "gold" color) but not sure what paint to buy. It can be acrylic or enamel. 2) I am kind of a new builder, is it common for level 3 kits, NOT to have part numbers on the spur? It's a little difficult, trying to match the part to the picture :-) Thanks in advance, -Steven

American Chopper Canceled
WigWag Workshop replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I read somewhere, JR is getting his own show. - I don't watch TV much anymore, I rather be at the bench building. When I do watch TV, I like to watch Military or Railroad stuff, and of course videos of your build and how-to's. -Steven -
Cheap craft paints
WigWag Workshop replied to hooterville75's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
For those who do use these low cost craft paints, what are you using to thin them for use in the airbrush? What is your mix ratio? The reason I am asking is, I am new to using an airbrush, and was thinking it would be for learning techniques. -Steven -

WigWag Workshop replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good Luck on the move! I know the feeling, we bought our house last year, and now I have 2 hobby areas. Can't wait till I have enough money saved up, to start my dream Model Railroad layout. -Steven -
