  1. A fellow modelcarlist.com guy made these decals for me around 2003, and they just got placed on their intended truck this year. Originally intended to be more of a street machine than a weathered work truck, this is how it ended up. Curbside for the most part, but the engine is there. This was build from the poor Emergency 911 kit.
  2. Well, I got it! I think I have hit on the final version of the exhaust back half. SImply used a couple sizes of Evergreen styrene rod Made the rear exhaust supports, basically s very small square of sheet styrene, with a hole in the middle of course, then cut in half. Painted body color Possible turn signal stalk from straight pin, dipped in elmers then body color paint
  3. Thanks Johann, after the bulk of the weathering, I went back over most of the vehicle with Vallejo pigments using a cotton swap, with the tape in place for the wiper blades. Then, I took a fresh cotton swab and pulled the "dust" down to where I liked it. (wished I had used a darker color as a side note) After I pulled it down into place, I misted the windshield with alcohol to set the pigment in place. It is not rock hard, but will not come off with light touches. At that point, I simply used a tooth pick that I dulled the tip a bit, and did my best to not mess it up too bad! LOL Glu,Funny! Thanks Dominik!
  4. Probably not this weekend, but the following. I will get some more work done on it, but not sure I will have enough time at the bench to get it completed.
  5. just working with the exhaust. It was going to exit to the sides in front of the rear tires, not so sure now.
  6. OK, got her done.Simple curbside, no wiring etc. She burns a little oil so he just picked up a case on the way home. old rag, cassette, and a photo etch Dodge key in the interior finish off the inside.
  7. Would be funny to hear it for sure. Hard not to try and imagine it now! LOL Ended up doing something similar. Foiled then flowed in tinted resin. Only, I forgot the back up lights.:-(
  8. cool, but with mine being the Dodge, not sure they would be convertible anyway. I will use that method for removal for a future reference tho!
  9. I really like your build, thanks for the link.I like the effort you out into the replica aspects. Thanks also for the offer on the tail lights, but as this was intended to only be a curbside I just used some tinted resin. This was just supposed to give me something to finish withiut too much fuss. hope everyone enjoys looking
  10. a few more details made it in. more pictures for the finished project by this weekend. Thanks for your input
  11. Thanks guys! Glad you are liking it! Still funny Glue. Randy, I really wanted the heavy two tone but worried it might be too much, but so far I am liking it. The mufflers for example were going to be cherry bombs, but I could bring myself to put the red under there.
  12. Chuck, I need to look again. I do have some resin in there now, but it did not turn out like I wanted. Ben, I should have finished pics up this weekend or before. Thanks for looking! Glue, thanks for checking in on me man.
  13. I always like the body style on that, very aggressive. I look forward to seeing more on this one.
  14. Diggin it so far Glue. I did the bed similar to that on my 29 Rat Rod. I think it looks great man.
  15. Thanks Mike, I have really only done minor weathering before like Rustall but hope to learn a lot on this one. The side doors came like that. Here is the base kit I started with, a poor kit really. Very few redeeming qualities. Steve, TWO of the same kits I had sealed, were missing the tail lights. I was going to carve them from a clear red toothbrush, but believe it or not, could not find one of those anymore! LOL They are all now those funny comfort grips etc. Ended up pouring in resin I tinted red into the sockets the lights go into, but I do not like the results, will have to keep trying. Jeff, glad you do sir. I know it is immature, but I get a kick out of word play like that.
  16. Thanks Josh, more shots soon. I am hoping to learn a bit on this build.
  17. I did not intend this to be a long project, but something to have going on while working on C-N-Things. This is some of my first efforts at full detail weathering beyond simple additions using pigments primarily. I am not at all fond of this kit, the Ertl 911 Emergency van. I had two kits both of which were missing the taillights. I did not do a folder to start with, so here are some shots of where I am at. The decals were made for me about 10 years ago when I first decided to do this project as a simple curbside build, I wish I could recall who it was so I could thank them again. the exhaust was shot with Metalizer, the Rustall, then Valejjo pigments
  18. Here are also a couple shots of the rear bumper out of aluminum tube and a mock-up of the tonneau cover.
  19. I have added some exhaust hangers and here I have one mufflers sitting in place for reference. My original idea for the exhaust was to be side exiting just in front of the rear wheels, but not sure at this point.
  20. Very nice work sir, very nice. I like your other projects as well.
  21. BTW! How do you get your pictures to group like that in the post? Mine always end up just being either attachments, or very small inserts.
  22. Very nice build, thanks for the ride in the time machine.
