  1. Thanks Glu. Yeah, it was really odd. For example, on one piece, AFTER it had sat for the 3 mos, I set it aside on a Tshirt one day after working on it a little and when I picked up the piece, it had the shirt slightly imprinted in it. I thought also maybe a bad run, BUT, I ended up using two cans, from two stores, purchased a couple weeks apart. Oh well, this one has really fought on several ways, then again it may just be me making things harder than they need to be! LOL

  3. For me, it is not the cost that keeps me away from the Goodguy show. I think this is a great offer you are making tho.
  4. I am going to a show this Sat morning, so it has to be completed by then! LOL I will get a lot more pictures out Sat.
  5. Thanks!
  6. OK, this thing has faught me tooth and nail on the paint. FIrst, my airbrush died, so I decided to try and shoot the paint straight from the Testor's Laq can, which went on WAY too heavy for my liking, so I stripped and shot again use holding the can very far back and using several very light mist coats, this time I ran out before the job was done, had to get more....argh, I do not know what it is about this Testor's Star Spangled Blue paint, but it seems to never cure. I set the parts aside for WEEKS to cure before I buffed them out, and after I got them all buffed and sat aside, I did not realize that a part had leaned against the cab leaving the entire side marred, Strip,re-shoot... Last week, I got to buff it out again, and burnt through one spot in the roof, so, re-shoot, but in the meantime...I got a new airbrush! So I spot shot it, waited about a week, then shot clear laquer over it. Let it set a few days, and then sanded and buffed today, ONLY to mar it again, this time while mating the roof to the cab Well, luckily, it did not require a re-shoot, just sanding and buffing, but I must say I think it turned out great. While I am ok with this color, I am not liking the workability of the Testor's laquers, sure WEEKS is enough time to cure without leaving fingerprints or having the surface get marred. and I live in Phoenix! No humdity issues. Oh well, again, I like the color, Light bulb test.
  7. I checked out some more of your builds over at Photobucket. I have to ask, where did you get the Hubbard Engineering decals? I would LOVE to get some of those.
  8. Are you using little "o" rings for the aibags?
  9. OK, airbrush replaced, back to work. Alclad was shot on the exhaust, and they were installed, chassis done! Also, got the tail lights in place, think these also came from the Ala Kart
  10. Here here! I am in agreement with you! Very nice paint work
  11. Thanks Johnathan. I see that you are here in the valley as well. What hobby shop do you frequent?
  12. Very neat project idea!
  13. Very cool!
  14. well, as it stands, I plan on buying both kits. I work for Toyota, and plan to have the FRS as my next daily driver. I was actually also going to use the Aoshima kit to cast the LH drive parts and work them to fit the Tamiya kit.
  15. Too bad about the engine. That seems like a lot of detail and effort only to leave out that major sub-assembly, but I am really looking forward to the kit. Mabe a kit base with the Tamiya motor
  16. Like many others have said, very sharp work. I would love to see your method for making the carbs looks so real
  17. I just want to know how slender your fingers are!? I mean, no matter how hard I try to get that kind of detail, I just can not get it. I just spent time trying to do headers for a rod I am working on, and I can not get that kind of detail. PLUS, I have to use glasses AND the magnified light get in and see that stuff! LOL
  18. what did you use for the airboags? I mad mine frim Milliput, but di not like them. I was thinking of trying to locate some "O" rings the right size.
  19. VERY nice. I was thinking of a similar front end solution to my current 32 project, but I am not sure yet.
  20. Hey Bryan, I am still trying to dial in on your "Gunk" stuff! LOL Thanks for the kind words yeah, I really like having those. Usually, as I part out a kit, I break them up into those bins. I also have several stackable tubs with the snap lids for large things like bodies, hoods, etc etc. It sure makes it easier to look for things. of course, I stll manage to have some model boxes of beaters etc. Thanks for the compliments and encouragement guys, I appreciate it!
  21. Also consider this, until people buy into and have faith in the "electric" option, it is a way off. Myself, unless the govt said I HAD to have one, I would never own on, they simply do not appeal to me, and I work for Toyota. Several reasons, people think using electric is sooo much better, but not yet really. A large percentage of electricity is still generated from the burning of coal, another commodity that will go away some day. Also, When I hit the gas, I like the runble, the sound, etc., It is so visceral, but not at all with electric. Now, with ethanol or some variant, we can grow it, and burn it. Other countries like Brazil have a GREAT infrastructure to support the new technoilogies, but we have not made the investment. Most automobiles in Brazil run either on hydrous alcohol (E100) or on gasohol (E25 blend), as the mixture of 25% anhydrous ethanol with gasoline is mandatory in the entire country.
  22. Started off with a 32 Ford from the Switchers kit, not a very good kit but it has some usable parts and was the body style I wanted to start with for this project. The stance will be very low, channeled, likely airbag suspension. Very likely to use some parts from the 1/24 scale Red Baron kit like the rims, even tho the Red Barron kit is 1/24 the rims fit just fine into the 1/25 tires, we shall see how much, just bits tho. Here it is after the chop. I already got the top chopped, and although the rear window has the "mail slot" I actually like it that way for the project, and will not be opening it up any more. Instead of pie cutting and laying back the "A" pillars, I will be reshaping them. A little "Z" action Using a more modern mill, the Cobra Jet from the 69 Shelby Mustang kit, it has some great molded in linkage, but it was not opened up from the back side, so I carefully use a very small drill bit and new xacto blade and opened them up. These pictures did not turn out as good as I hoped, but if you look, you can see what I am talking about
  23. Wow, that is really looking good, looking forward to the paint
