  1. Just curious, someone earlier ni the thread pointed out the expense of these types of shows when compated to their current "market size" I have heard different numbers tossed about as to what a new release was expected to sell, like the Mobius Hudons around 5000 kits. That seems VERY low, but how do I know. But, are those number correct? What were the sales numbers like of a succesful kit in say 1968? So if Revell is facing the same concerns, easy to see the expesnse is not worth it.
  2. 1:35 which is unusual for me. I mostly build 1:25 but it was a subject matter that I liked, so why not! Thanks
  3. Oh yeah, looking really good sir
  4. Here you go. Just finished up the Mash kit this weekend. Pics did not come out as well as I would have liked tho, but here you go. http://public.fotki.com/machman/models/builds-2013/mash-4077/ I will post a few here as well.
  5. LOL I just got off work this evening and have not even hit the bench tonight. I love it. The looks similar the the way I did the bed in my 29, wood slats with small I channel? looking forward to more for sure
  6. looking great, but real curious to what is in your greasy gunk.
  7. Dan, I grabbed those from my "parts bin" but I am pretty sure the tires came from the first issue of the Dodge Ram truck when they did the kit of the new body style maybe 12 years ago? something like that. I think the rims may have been a spare option from the same kit, but I would not swear to that. I will check out more of your pics, possibly later tonight if I can. I am just getting to weathering some model. I am just finishing up a MASH 4077 kit of the jeep ad tent, no in progress shots, but hope to have it done this weekend.
  8. Thanks Joey! Dan, that is a great pickup! I have a couple more projects on the back-burner that are also play on words.
  9. Excellent, thanks!
  10. I was hoping you did it this way! I just recently bought some Vallejo pigments, and was thinking of doing something similar.
  11. Great looking results! Is that a decal for the windshield fade? If so, what was the source?
  12. what color of metalizer did you shoot that transmission with? I like how the edges have that rubbed metal sheen
  13. Hey Bryan, you may have missed it earlier, but there were a couple of us that were interested in your bumper pitting process. If you do not mind sharing, would be really appreciate your technique.
  14. I like the contrasting color, I would not paint them!
  15. I really like the result you have there with the pitting. How did you do that if you do not mind sharing?
  16. Nice variance. Nice to see others that also build more than one style.
  17. I like it sir!
  18. Oh man, I really like that you are using real wood. There is a product that Micro Mark has called Age It Easy, and when you put it on raw wood it has a really cool affect. I used it on the wood planks in the bed of my 29 Rat Rod. They have a brown and a gray. Here is a link. http://www.micromark.com/Age-It-Easy-Gray-3-1and2-Fl-oz,7567.html You may even be able to find a rail road guy nearby that would let you bum some if you wanted to try it out first, but I can tell you it is cool stuff and will have a lot of uses. Um, that is assuming you are building this as a worker tho.
  19. Man, you know I am diggin this one. Honestly tho, I watch and get frustrated with myself, because my builds seem to progress sooo slow...and some folks here seem to get sooo much done so quickly, and it is real quality work, not just stuff slapped together. Build on my friend, build on.
  20. Purple, then instead of Monkee Mobile, it could be the Grape Ape. really, nice styling
  21. really diggin this project
  22. I was going to say the same thing! I agree
  23. Roger, This was indeed a learning project for me as well. In the past it was mostly just black washes and some "oil" messes on chassis etc. Check out Youtube for videos on weathering tips. There are a lot of trains and military subjects, but it still applies to the auto world many times as well. Chuck, Terry, Steve, Michael, Ira, Johann, thanks guysI I tried to learn as I went along, and maybe can apply what I learned to future projects Ray, what part of Arizona? You going to Modelzona in Nov?
