I've got 2 sets of Pegasus wheels: 2301 23" T's Chrome and 1274 Chrome T's (basically Cragar 5 spoke). During test fitting on Revell's '06 Mustang GT they stick out too far. The rear axle could be trimmed down some but I wouldn't be able to use the brakes. The front suspension leaves no room for trimming on the other hand. I thought about trimming the center post on the wheel back but I don't won't to damage the chrome finish or wheel. Has anybody used these on this kit? Any suggestions? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update as of 3:45pm: the 23"s are too wide and stick out past the fenders! I think these tires wheels will get saved for another project!

I've had this kit sitting on the shelf and I've finally found the inspiration to build it for a special project. Here's what I think so far: Cons: Not a big fan of the white, aluminum, and black plastic; rather would see all white. BTW, where are the transparent red light lenses? What's with the narrow tires? Pros: The body is perfect, Revell captured the new design flawlessly. The closed hood has no gap next to the fenders and blends smoothly. I think this is Revell's best Mustang; believe me I've built a lot of them over the years. Definitely a detailed chassis and interior. Everything is going together very well too. I'll keep this review updated as the kit progresses hoping to inspire future Mustang builders.

Just got a Mustang GT500KR resin hood in the mail and its's got a crack in between the vents on the front end. 1. What is the best way to repair this crack? 2. What preparation is required before the part can be painted? I've heard that resin parts need to soaked in the cleaner used to clean white lettering on 1:1 tires.

Bumblebee looks great with the building. I've seen the movie twice, and am anxiously waiting the DVD release on October 16th.

That diorama is simply amazing, very inspiring. Makes me want to resurrect my gas station model I built about 5 years ago. Add a few cars and trucks from the collection and I'll be all set. BTW I wasn't even born 'til November 24 of '72.

Sweet rigs as always, Tim. I wish I was on my 8th project of the year but I'm only on # 3. -

The body paint is Testors Enamel Gloss Dark Blue and High Gloss Enamel Overcoat; the chassis is unpainted plastic. The biggest problem was splicing the frame. Another area that caused a minor problem is the front bumper mounting area due to some interference from the radiator. Revell Germany definitely did not put the assembly in a logical sequence; I've jumped back and forth all throughout this project. -

Here's a progress report on my Alaskan Hauler-- Chassis, engine, body assembly all in work. I wasn't too fond of the frame rail extensions at first, but as more was added to the frame it became quite solid. I used the "pit fenders" with the the heavy bumper; originally I was planning on stock fenders with flat bumper. I'm using the "extra" chrome rear quarter fenders instead of the big rear fenders. By the time I add a few more plates my rig will be chromed from the headache rack to the fifth wheel. All four axles will have chrome rims; I bought a second kit just so I could have the proper rims. The hood, cab, sleeper, spoiler, and front bumper all were painted today. I'll try to post some pictures soon. Trucking along, Jeremy -
A local hobby store in Maumee, OH, is having their going out of business sale. I've been looking for another trailer for my trucks and today my Dad found a few. The owner said that they had brought some kits out of the stores' basement. The trailer my Dad picked up for me is a 1975 release ERTL "Dump Gravel Trailer". The box was in bad shape, had to wipe some dust off no-bagged parts, but it's complete. I was really surprised to see the kit is molded in white; the painting possibilities are endless.

I agree with Tim (mackinaw359), buy the kit. I just got mine the other day from Fantastic-Plastics at a great price. Sure, the frame has to be cut to add the third axle, but with the proper modeling saw/miter box, it can be done. I may even reinforce behind the frame extensions if necessary. The kit does include round fenders and pit fenders, so the nose can be built either way. Their are loads of extra parts that can be used to build a custom rig or for kitbashing. The chrome parts are excellent. The decal sheet is simply awesome.
