  1. Just smoked the rearmost axle trying to get tires to attach; time for some serious repair! OOPS! Update as of 10:53p.m.-- That axle is toast, had to remove it except for the hangers, luckily the "jockey box" from the trailer covers the back section of frame completely. As long as no one asks to see the underside of the tractor, no big deal. Basically the tractor is now single drive.
  2. I WANT THAT TRAILER! Huge NASCAR fan. Bravo, brother.
  3. Turned out fabulous. Great color choice. Really dig the decal over the sleeper window. Wish it wasn't still winter in Ohio so I could get the paint on mine.
  4. Now this is what I call a beast! Awesome work.
  5. Just swapped out the Revell snap-Pete tires out for the AMT wrecker tires, what an improvement. The AMT tires with sidewall detail look give a realistic look. 8/10 Revell snap tires had a horrible sidewall bulge that would not seal onto the outer wheels.
  6. This project was going to be an AMT 359 (wrecker) with the Peerless Logging Trailer behind it. Well the frame in that AMT is beyond junk, holy multiple warps! It must have laid around forever along with the old molds, not gonna happen! So here's the recovery, modify a Revell "Snap" Pete to become the prime mover, throw in some parts from the AMT Pete, hook it up to the Logging Trailer, and let 'er roll! And use a Revell Germany Alaskan Hauler front bumper. Pics to follow as work progresses.
  7. That's an awesome combination, color matched all the way is cool!
  8. Change of plans: the Revell fenders wouldn't match up without major re-locating of mounting holes, which would have made me drill right into crossmembers. So I decided to use the kit fenders, re-located back closer to wheels, looks a lot more accurae compared to where Moebius holes were. Images once I get the chassis finished.
  9. I'd say this is a month or so progress on this beast. I'm using both the Moebius and Revell Germany instructions to build since Revell's are a lot more detailed. I have had no fit issues whatsoever, everything has almost fallen into it's location; the engine took a little caressing to fit in it's place but it's mounted solid. The frame and interior accents (and soon the bodywork) are Testors Model Master Turquoise as are all my paints and glue. Used a little CA here and there. It's a blast! Rear fenders are from a Revell Germany Alaska hauler and extra plated decking is from a Revell snap Pete. BTW, a Moebius 53' will be hooked up to it.
  10. That's thinking out of the box!
  11. Now that's a wicked tow truck. Got a clear image of the sleeper back wall?
  12. Now this is truly a beast of a KW.
  13. I like it! Got one I'm waiting to get the body work painted, gotta love Ohio in the winter.
  14. You are the master! We are not worthy! Hoping my Lonestar w/ 53' footer turns out this amazingWOW
  15. what are you planning on towing with this monster?
  16. Keep them pictures coming! Looking badass!
  17. Wow, an engine compartment with lots of room in it, miss those days. Killer lines on these old trucks. I'd would take the 1:1 in a second if I ever found one. Guess I'll just have to stick with my 2008 F-150 FX2 for now.
  18. I really like using a decal for a bedspread.
  19. I built the Alaskan/Canadian hauler version a few years back, look for the parts that can be used to build the tri-axle rig (frame extenders, 3rd axle, driveshaft, etc.)
  20. Agreed, not too bad for a gluebomb, fix her up!
  21. Definitely an attention grabber! Awesome!
  22. Awesome! Built one a few years ago, what a blast.
