  1. Yes.........that's it!!!!! I knew it was too good to be the other guy's stuff. Thanks.
  2. Been reading some former threads on Frontier resin. I bought a '68 Dart 2 door post body off the 'bay a few months back. Does anyone know if it came from Frontier? I can't recall. Anyway, the mold is very crisp and done well. One problem I noticed is that the C pillar is a bit too long, and it's missing a body line. It can easily be corrected with some sanding sticks however.
  3. Duplicolor makes and acrylic laquer clear that I've been told works well too. I'm going to take some parts bodies and do a little experiment I guess.
  4. I've read some about clears and primers in the earlier "Let's talk paints and primers" thread, but I still have a question. As some of you know I build mostly replica stock, I use spray cans, and use enamel or laquer paints. Another modeling buddy recommended Duplicolor #T125 Truck, Van and SUV clear, but no one stocks it anymore. I don't think Duplicolor makes it any longer. What do you guys feel is the best, user friendly, clear that would work over enamels and laquers? I was also wondering if any one is familiar with the Duplicolor T125, would anyone know if it is the same product that they offer in another can...........like the regular Perfect Match clear. I just don't want to screw up a couple of paint jobs that could use some clearcoat, by using the wrong stuff.
  5. Wanting to convert the MPC '72 GTO kit to a base LeMans. I would need a hood, header panel, and chrome front bumper and lower valance. Anybody making any of this? Or would anyone like to try? Grille is different as well, but I think I could scratch build the grille out of the provided ones for the GTO.
  6. Are you considering casting more of those hubcaps? They are spot on.
  7. Where did you get the hubcaps for your '73??
  8. The 4 door sedan and the 4 door hardtop use totally different rooflines. Could pick up a sedan and an old promo and graft the roof from the promo onto the sedan I guess. Another problem may be that the molds used for the sedans could be 1/24, as they were probably the old Hubley kits at one time. The AMT promo was 1/25. Hopefully Resin Realm will do the correct 4 door hardtop, like the promo was.
  9. Jay, Love your 1:1 and your model............looks awesome!
  10. Ron, yes,.that's it. I want a 4 door hardtop.......not a 4 door sedan. I guess if no one is doing one, I'll have to try to de-warp an old promo.
  11. Anybody doing a full size '60 Ford 4 door hardtop? I want one of these bad, and everytime I find a promo for sale, they are too warped to bother with.
  12. Looks awesome........love the two tone, and the use of white walls with the magnum rims.
  13. Thanks guys.........Jersey, I should have know you'd do a wrecked one!!! I love it!!! Still amazes me how you get these diecasts to bend up so realistically.
  14. Started life as a Sunstar 1/18 diecast Atlanta, GA cab. I wanted a stock Checker. So here it is. I loved the color combo I did my '77 Monte Carlo kit in, so I chose the leftover paint for this as well. Came out pretty good, except I cracked the back glass! Oh well, I guess you could say some kid threw a rock at it!! Thought the redlines would look cool on it. Removed all the Taxi hardware in and out, filled the holes, and the rest is stock Testors spray, and Krylon for the cream color on the roof.
  15. Beautiful!!!!!.........how did you get that side trim so perfect???
  16. OMG!!!!!!!!! that is gorgeous!!! I am planning to do one of these soon myself. Beautiful job.
  17. Not hard to find..............go on the Bay or the other online shops. Got this one for cheap.
  18. Phillip, your's looks cool.............great job on the engine bay and the chassis. Love the green metallic. I got a '77 Nova annual I did in that factory green............love the oddball colors. I know lots of guys like the Rallyes, but I chose the full wheel covers , because I'm wierd like that. My '77 Monte actually is wearing '76 caps. No one makes the '77 caps in kit form or in resin. Only thing that really makes the kit a '77 is the tail lights anyway. If no one knows Montes, they would'nt even notice. Anyway, it's all about having fun...................and keep the Monte kits coming!! (I'm actually a Mopar freak, but I love all the smog era rides!)
  19. No, just a curbside..............did file out some crude mold lines, a few other mods to take away the "toy" look..........but did'nt go all the way with engine and chassis. I imagine one could cut the hood, use the chassis and running gear from the '70 Monte kit, and make it realistic...........but I do replica stock, have lots of detailed promos and such, so I chose to do it as a curbside. Post some pics of yours............looks like you've done a bunch of work there.
  20. It's not as heavy on the metallic as the pics make it seem..........always looks better in person........I'm not a photographer. Charlie, I used my favorite primer. Dollar General Premium Miracle 2.75 a can..........I know it's cheap, but the stuff works great. Stays soft for a couple of days, so you have to wait to sand between coats. Good stuff however. Covered up the red this kit was moulded in, no bleed. and Mike, sorry, did'nt want to make you feel old......lol. I remember lots of these cars around too, we used to buy them for a couple hundred bucks back in the late 80's. Saw a bunch of them get run in the derby too. I remember, my dad and I went to look at one for sale when I was about 8 years old.(Metallic light green), He passed on it because it had too many miles (88,000) for the price they were asking (600. bucks!!) Wish we could get deals like that again! Those were the days.
  21. Just finished this one up tonight. Testors One Coat Fiery Orange is just about a dead on for factory '77 Chevy Orange Poly. Krylon Almond for the interior and Landau top. Thought I would have to foil the trim around the top, but actually these things had painted mouldings to match the vinyl top. (Good thing I masked decently) . Thanks to Mike from NC, and CorvairJim, (here on the board), we traded , and I got the bench seat and caps from them. Firestone Supremes out of the parts box. A little foil work and it came out OK. For anyone doing one of these...........the glass comes in one piece.........cut the glass seperate. It won't fit flush as one piece.
  22. I love Imperials, but rarely like to see them customized. However, this one is "right on" and looks awesome! Love it! ,and the paisely pattern works well.
  23. Nothin' wrong with that...................looks awesome.........love the shop dio.......keep 'em coming!
  24. Nick, looks awesome! Love to see one in a neat factory color, plus the wheels look great. Too many guys stick Rallyes or Magnums on 'em. Yours looks sweet.
  25. Gorgeous!!!!!!! Love the color combo.
