  1. There was a kit of a Buick Skyhawk version. One of those late seventies kits with the wacked out body modded custom on the box, but I believe it could be built stock. I saw one on the Bay a while back and it sold for more than I wanted to pay, but I'd like to find one and do a Skyhawk as well. A resin coupe body would be great too.
  2. No, that's the original moulded color, Medium Green Poly. Buffed it, detailed and waxed. These promos are fairly inexpensive on the Bay..............can pick one up for about 20-25 bucks or so. Nice oddball subject for your display case. They did kits of these, but honestly, in my opinion, for the money.........go for the promo. After all, it was the '70's.............you know what I mean.
  3. Here's another promo I cleaned up and detailed. More of my "home made" white walls. Looks like they hit a curb a few times!! Bought this promo at a swap meet last weekend for 10 bucks.
  4. NY #1 !!!!! Glad she is taking an interest in building.
  5. Absolutely beautiful! Great color choice! All you need is some redline tires on that baby!
  6. I would love to do an HO railroad, just don't have the space or the dough!!
  7. Thanks guys. Yes, I'll have some trash........plan on having an "abandoned and forgotton" section of the park too! These little plasticvilles were pretty well detailed. When I get started on the diorama, I'll post more pics. Right now I'm trying to figure out where I am going to put it! I plan to do it aobut 3 foot by 3 foot.
  8. My HO plasticville gas station. Added blue for the overhang, and chrome foiled the stainless on the building. It's not done yet, some mild weathering is in store, as it's going on the road front for my HO scale trailer park, that is to be set in approx 1961.
  9. Bart, it was'nt really a conversion..............just an old 4 door resin body ontop of an old kit.
  10. Thanks Bernard.............that's a lot of ###### to remember, but once I do it a few times, I'll probably get used to it. Hey Harry..........thanks.......when you gonna post another "is it real or not" thing? LOL....................
  11. Apologies to Darrell, I spelled his name wrong in my post. You can contact him under Darrell Gwinn on our forum. Thanks for the compliments guys, and someone let me know how I can get my own pics up on here without having to put a link.
  12. Yes, you are right!! R & D Unique, I remember now. Like I said, it was a long time ago I bought the resin body for it. Thanks for posting my pics. I can't post pics anymore, only links. It tells me I've used up all my space on the site!?!?!?! Anyway, go to our Swap/trade/free section and scroll down. You'll see Darryl's post about white walls. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll post it back here for you. Awesome guy, awesome product......Al.
  13. Oh yeah! Coming out beautiful! Love the wheel and tire choice! Wood looks fantastic, especially with the color!
  14. Just finished this one up last night. Original 3 in 1 issue that I've had for 20 something years, resin 4 door body that I bought a long time ago (can't remember who did the resin?) box stock build, nothing special, mixed up my own color to replicate the green for the engine, the body is sprayed in (believe it or not) forest green Dollar General Miracle brand junk spray for a buck fifty!!! Very close to a '39-40 Ford shade of green, careful prep with 3 coats, buffed out, just enough orange peel to make it look like factory!! Shot at 76 degrees outside in low humidity. Cured in the sun for 15 minutes, then brought inside (dehumidifier and A/C) and let to gas off for a week or so. All box stock except for the 4 door body, and the beautiful wide white appliques from our very own board member Darryl. This is the first time I've used these, and I am very pleased. I did take the liberty of adding the cool kit provided full fender skirts. I think the car looks best that way. https://picasaweb.google.com/113970275234479884863/BuiltKits39FordDeluxe4Door?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLu215Hl5uziJg&feat=directlink
  15. Very cool idea! Looks great!
  16. Cool stuff.........you are truly talented. I always look forward to your pics.
  17. Wild!!!!! Love those leaning tower of powers.
  18. Awesome! I love it! So much better than a box stock build..........it has character. I've been thinking about doing some replicas of cars in my past, this gives me inspiration.
  19. Wagon wagon wagon!!! Think of the possibilities, Olds version, Buick version, Pontiac version...........taxis, public service, stock, drag, demo, drag..................oh man!!!! (Was a kid in the '70s, can't help it.)
  20. I use duplicolor as well as many other paints. One thing I found with the duplicolor laquer, it's best shot outdoors in the sun, warm, not too humid. Several coats, then it will buff out nicely. Always use a good primer/sealer underneath it. My favorite primer believe it or not is Dollar General Miracle Premier. Whomever they buy this stuff from is halfway decent. Have to let it cure for several days before sanding however. Been using it for about 5 years now with no problems.
  21. Man, that thing is awesome! Mercury Montego. Haven't seen one of those that nice since the '70's. Hope that guy is'nt driving that thing in all that salt up there! I think Motor City Resin does a Torino wagon in scale, could possibly scratch build the front end between that and a '73 Cougar kit. ?? Would love to have one of these babies in 1/25. I had a copper colored '73 just like it once. Nice car.
  22. Sweet! Gonna make me go get one of these kits!
  23. Great job for first time with foil! Looks good, love the color combo.
  24. Manny, I agree, it does look better like this. Awesome job.
