baloney replied to Jordan White's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Found it!!! it's been in a drawer desk in the basement for ???years.. basic build up just to get rid of it. like i mentionned build after a guy's truck where i work. it has a v6 but i couldn't found a 4 in line engine... anyway. enjoy! -
there you go! i bought this in 91.... not done yet.. i'm using the 427 from the max rat kit---66 chevelle--this is in 1.24 so it's a little bigger than the 454 used in the kit. it's sitting on 20"various wheel--aoshima--.it will be low to the ground of course.. and black tinted windows too. the paint needs to be polished ,it's pretty raw. this has been spray with lacquer from a rattle can long time ago..

AMT flatbed 48' conversion?
baloney replied to JRJ's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
to match the truck you could of paint the spokes red --same color as the tractor-- it would give it more pop to it more like the owner operator look-- anyway it's a very nice clean build congrats!!! i like it.--add some mud flaps to the last axle.. Thanks for showing it to us. greg -
i don't like the truck at first 'cause we don't see this truck at all on the road.. even so ... i'm considering doing it even with all the bad vibes you folks gave it. even if the instructions are bad i don't mind the pain. i know i can build the truck. someday i'll buy it and build it. but from now on i have too many to do before i lay some cash on this. i'll buy the pro star first if moebius really do it. that's a truck i can relate too. these we see on our roads!

did you paint a base color --gold?--before applying the final color or it's only gray primer underneath? Thanks. excellent work by the way!

wow that's what i call a paint job! so nice seems like it's flowing on the car.. so nice i'm jealous! congrats for painting like this. just curious, with a well build kit like this.. why you didn't sand off the chrysler writing on the fuel tank?

International Lonestar, have you ever seen one?
baloney replied to kenb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yes i've seen some. sleepers and daycabs too, hauling gravel,53 foot drybox... they are quite scarce.. maybe the cost is high? truckers or fleets prefers ;pete's kw's,freights and others i guess.. -
i feel your pain . it's never too funny when we buy a kit and everything goes bad. as for me i don't like the kit i wish they could of just choose another truck. i saw on this forum , some nice builds of it.. i hade once a kit like this it wasn't a truck i was doing a lotus from i hated the kit in everyway the fit was bad it didn't sit level etc.. so i decided to do a wrecked lotus! anyway this car is long gonenow --in the trash-- but, i hated the kit!

me too ! the hubcaps are an awsome touch.
