Thanks guys for the help.... I believe I found the color code I was looking for, it's KK1 turquoise. Does that sound right? Would I be able to find this in Dupli Color?

What's a good source for the turquoise color that Plymouth used in '67 on the Belvedere/GTX? All I can find are the High-Impact colors......

Thanks for the info and the link, Bill... the frame is suspended on each end by huge coil springs, kinda like the Tijuana Taxi. I was hoping I could use it as a guide for making a frame... As for the clay, would I need some sort of release agent to keep the acrylic from sticking to it?

I've been obsessed with this car since I was a kid. I am thinking about trying to build it. I believe the body will be easy enough to make out of card stock. As for the embossing, what material could I use to carve a mold into to pour maybe acrylic paint in to get that effect? And the frame... is there maybe an old show rod's chassis that would work, or would it have to be scratch built? Any help is greatly appreciated...

I would like to make a cut-out in the roof of my next project, a hole in the shape of a question mark (?)... Would photo-etch saw blades be ideal for this, or will they not be sturdy enough? If the saw blades won't work, what would you guys recommend that will take on compound curves without breaking?

More than likely I will be using one of those small aerosol cans with the jar attachment on the bottom, that way I can spray acrylic without having an airbrush..... unless the technique would be achieved better with spray cans?

I'm hoping to make this my next project. Would I start with a red and try to fade it? This will be my first shot at any major weathering, so any and all advise is greatly appreciated....

Thanks man.... the covers for the headlights are acetate from the '29 Ford that I sprayed satin black on the back of.....

This one is pretty much finished, just gotta add the side markers.... Other than making black-outs for the headlights and tinting the windows, this is box stock.... the paint is Dupli-Color Toreador Red with Krylon satin clear.... Hope you guys enjoy! Feel free to comment....

Hi.... usually you will want to start out with light mist coats followed by a slightly heavier color coat... also, try to find something you can practice your technique on.... Sounds like you handled it pretty well, though....hope this helps

Read on the can where it says clean up. Whatever you use to clean your brush with, thats what you thin with.... I used to paint houses, and I've never run across this stuff....

Hey Hippie man... I've got a roll of aluminum sheet that you could use to build your interior with. It's thin enough to cut with heavy scissors and would look very realistic.... I could send it to you, no problem....

I "borrowed" these from the 'Bay... There is always good reference pics there... Hope this helps!

Thanks Casey! I found through the link to the topic about the '64 that Modelhaus makes a standard cab with an 8 ft. bed, and a crew cab with a 6 1/2 ft. bed. Do you guys think they would mix-and-match parts so I could build a standard cab with a 6 1/2 ft. bed?

Does anyone know of a good source for a '61-'71 Dodge truck? I would like to find a standard cab, short bed version, if I could..... Thanks for any info, you guy's help is always appreciated!
