  1. Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I got the stance by flipping the front spindles, and the wheel and tire combo sit it lower than the factory wheels.....
  2. Thank you, Guys! I'm pretty proud of this one...
  3. Thanks Carl!
  4. Here's my latest project done.... Most of you probably know this kit, it's the Lindberg '61 Impala. Primer, paint, and clear are all Dupli-Color, and I two-toned the interior. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out! Any and all comments are much appreciated....
  5. Hey, Kerry, where can I get one of those T-Shirts?
  6. Hey, friend... I see you have been having a little difficulty in getting your paint jobs to your liking. I had the same problems you are having until I discovered the Dupli-Color Perfect Match paints that you can get at the local auto parts store. I've never had a run or sag with this stuff, as it goes on silky smooth.... And I never mist coat anything, it's all wet coats for me, even with the primer, which I wet sand before color coats. the Perfect Match paints go on flat, so you will need a clear. Krylon Crystal Clear is probably best suited for this as it is a "cool" clear.... I'm not saying you should strip your paint and start all over, but maybe take this into consideration on your next project. Good Luck, and I hope this helps some.....
  7. Actually, whoever did the airbrush on the car did a pretty good job (I like the techni-color frog on the fender...)
  8. A blonde was excited to hear that her sister just had her first child... "Is the child a girl or a boy?" asked the blonde, "That way I'll know whether I'm an aunt or an uncle...." What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino? Elephino!!
  9. Thanks for the links guys! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for the 2n1 hardtop kit, looks interesting!
  10. Thanks Casey! I thought the interior may be different, the back seat narrowed for the top and what-not... Can you recommend some sites where I may find the Monogram kit?
  11. I would like to build a '59 Impala hardtop, but all I can find in kit form is the 2n1 convertible. If I were to find a hardtop body, would it work with the convertible kit? Thanks for any help!
  12. Hey, guys.... Sorry to bump an old topic, I was just wondering... does the 2n1 California Wheels Impala come with the decals for the upholstery?
  13. Would any of you guys care to share a story of how you let one slip by you? Lots of cool guys on here who I'm sure have owned lots of cool cars.....
  14. You may be able to use this problem to your advantage! Are the details you polish through to scripts and badges that are meant to be chrome? If so, you can foil these areas before you paint, then when you polish, you will expose the foil and have a nice chrome script!
  15. Sure, guys.....
  16. Yea, the Ford is long gone, but I could still track down the Dart, I think...... What is the most frustrating is that I found out later that it's relatively easy to get a title here in NC....
  17. We all have stories about "the one that got away"... there are a couple of cars that I wish I had not let slip through. These cars may have been kind of rare, not valuable, but scarce. When I was a teen, a lady gave my dad a '60 Fairlane 500 just to get it out of her yard. I've seen lots of '60 Fords, but they were all Starliners. The car was black, not sure of the engine but it had a 3 speed trans. We could never get a title for the car, so it was sold. Another car I missed out on was a '72 Dart Swinger. It was a 318/auto car, nothing special there, but it was ordered in triple white (paint, vinyl top, interior). I've never seen another car like these two. Should I be kicking myself for letting these cars get by?
  18. Welcome, friend....
  19. No one opens the door for a shark.... you have to say "Candy-Gram" to get the door open!
  20. Yea, I guess I misread the post... my apologies, just a little miffed that waiting 5 days to reclear something wasn't enough.....
  21. So your first post is to bash someone?! real mature......
  22. EPIC FAIL!! Long story short, I crazed the clear on the doors.... you guys stay away from the acrylic enamel clears! This one will go back in the box until I figure out what to do with it........
  23. Thought I would show you the little bit of progress I've made on this one! Got the headlight buckets molded to the fenders... my first time using putty on a model. also got the hood painted! The specks you see are just lint, not trash in the paint....
  24. The Far Side was the best comic strip ever!
