tanker trailer
doogie7046 replied to Q tip's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That is looking good. I like the addition of the fenders, that really makes a big difference in the look of the trailer. -

Nice clean build. I remember seeing this back when you first built it, nice to see it again. -
Awesome build. I like how you modified the grill and headlights. Visor looks great with the Eagle theme. The paint design really works with those decals. Looks like it could have been a factory paint option.

That came out looking great! Just like the box art. I love it. -
Wow, one nice clean build. That is walk down memory lane for me as my buddy had one of those cars back in high school until he got his 70 Nova on the road. You really did this kit justice.

Awesome looking logger. I remember seeing this in Scale Auto. I wish I would have kept some of those magazines. Really good to see it again. -
Does this come with Sleeper?

Gee, I thought they usually left all the extra goodies in the box but just never listed it. Good to know. -

doogie7046 replied to Platerpants's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very cool. I love that done up in military colours. If the lowboy is too expensive why not get a jeep and paint it up the same colours and attach a towbar to the front and have the C Cab pull it. -

Surprisingly good? You under rate your work, it looks fantastic. I know of the trailer you started with and I was going to build it right out of the box but now maybe I need another one to make it a 53' as well. Thanks for sharing the pics. -
I just did another trade with Fat Brian and there was a hiccup in the Postal system as the package was late in arriving(7weeks and it normally takes a week or two). Brian had contacted the Post Office on numerious occasions for me to try and track the package. When the package didn't show up in the system he initiated a claim for me and of course the day he did that the package arrived safe and sound. Brian is not only a great person to trade with but follows through to ensure the package gets to you and I really appreciate all his efforts. He packs with care so don't hesitate trading with him. I posted in the wanted section and Mike Brinx was gracious enough to send me the parts. Awesome guy!!!! Thanks again Mike

Constructive criticism is a good thing but your comment is not constructive or adding any value to this thread. As it has always been said, "if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all" For a newbie you got a lot to learn. -
new to semis
doogie7046 replied to camarofreak82_427's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I too have bought from Eric and P&Pvintage and the resin is just like injection moulded plastic. Smooth with no bubbles or distortion on the parts. Communication is fast and shipping even faster. I have bought cheaper inferior parts off Ebay and had to trash them as they were not worth the time to fix them and some were unfixable. Eric offers high quality parts at affordable prices. I can also recommend Daniel from Plaskit. He offers excellent rims and tires and is constantly updating his parts catalogue. His resin is just like Erics. Smooth with no bubbles or warping and great service too. I have bought from both these casters and highly recommend them. -
Mack R series Tanker
doogie7046 replied to northendmetalallstar's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Are they on clearance now? I haven't been to Michael's in a while and thought they were kinda expensive last time I was in. Which one did you go to? I will have to check out the one in Mississauga later this week. -

Excellent job!! Looks great as a daycab and the paint looks awesome. -
I think if you are going to modify it you may consider using parts from other Italeri kits, just might give you an edge if you do something custom that can be replicated using all their parts. Heck, if they like it enough it won't be hard for Italeri to bring out a model kit with the custom parts used on the build and that will be a win win situation for all.

transtar 2 long and short wheelbase
doogie7046 replied to lapazleo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I back dated my Transtar 11 I used the aircan from the Astro as it was pretty close and for the bumper I used the Transtar 11 bumper, just cut it down and added some evergreen strip styrene to get the basic shape and contours of the co 4070Ahttp:// -
I like using the Tamiya brand putty. I also use automotive glazing putty with good results too.

If you ever plan on getting rid of any of the kits in Toronto, let me know and I can zip over and meet your parents.
