  1. While on the topic, how do you go about making decals? Does it take a special type of paper or clear paint? Could I use a watery mixture of Mod Podge?
  2. Looking Good!!! Just a little tip about the body being a tight fit, next time take a soda can and cut the top and bottom off. Then cut the remaining can in half so you have 2 slates. Use the slates to help aide the body down so it doesnt get caught on anything. Worth a shot.
  3. I'm so jealous on so many levels. This build is crazy!! I've looked multiple times and still amazed at the work and craftsmanship you have put into this build. Keep it up!!
  4. Wow! Very nice! Master Modeler in the making. That car would make Barbie jealous. Heck I'm jealous!
  5. Now that, is a work art. I can't get over how clean it is. How long does it take you to complete a model to this standard?
  6. Will Do! Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can get away from the apparent Highly Noticeable Sharpie Era.
  7. Okay. I've got a Hobby Lobby up in West Virginia about 56 Miles from me. Been meaning to take a drive up there. Just might do it this weekend.
  8. Basically, my best bet would be to buy some Acrylic & Enamel and really test the two out to see which one suits me better. JrHerald420, the Premixed Enamel you was talking about, does it say on the bottle/jar that it is premixed or anything? Also, while I'm thinking about it, has anyone tried the Testors Aerosol Lacquer paint? I ask because I am curious to know how many models I could paint with 3 Ounces! Sounds like a long shot and a waste of money.
  9. Okay. I've used Testors Enamel paints before and I had a problem with brush strokes showing up. Regardless of how much I tried to clean it up, they would never disappear. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  10. Okay. So I've done my research, yet I am still finding myself confused and lost on the subject at hand. I Do Not own an Airbrush, nor do I plan on owning one until I get better at my models (just at the basics right now). Primarily, I'm curious to know which Paint Base is best for detailing the interior's on models. I have some fine tip paint brush's as well as a tackle box full of Sharpies. So... To make a long story short, read below. Please Do Your Best To Leave Airbrushing Out Of This Thread To Cut Confusion. 1) Acrylic vs Enamel? No need to go in depth. What do you prefer and why? 2) Have you tried both Acrylic and Enamel? 3) If thinning is required, what's the best way to measure out paint vs thinner? I know I'm asking a lot that probably requires a 3 Subject Notebook explanation. I'm wanting just a straight forward Yay or Nay for one or the other. But, I will leave that at the Wishful Thinking Door. Any/All insights on the subject would be greatly appreciated. If this topic has been touched on before, I apologize for making a duplicate post.
  11. Looking Good! Love the blue. I've been considering getting me an R8. This may have pushed me over. Will be following. Keep it up!
  12. Should be ashamed! Never trade a Lincoln! I kid, I kid. I would have never believed that Airbags would have really made that big of difference for riding. Needless to say, I no longer dread speed bumps. I've always been a sucker for the Old Skool 60's Continental.
  13. My nice little Washington's bought me my current Daily Driver. a 2002 Lincoln Continental CE (Collector's Edition). Was bought on Jan. 1, 2013 (Heck of a way to start off the new year) for $7,990 with 74,413 Miles. 1 Owner, owned by an older couple that was looking to upgrade to the new Lincoln MKZ. Check it out at my CarDomain page. Being 23, I've always enjoyed comfort over style as I love to drive. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/4019545/2002-lincoln-continental/
  14. Yea... When I reviewed the pictures I coukd see the broken sharpie lines. I will probably go back and redo them. Since Im just starting out, ttying to stay cheap and practical. Been really considering getting me an Airbrush Kit. But living in an apartment, I'm worried about the compressor noise. Ill be working on it more tomorrow.
  15. Well alrighty then. Simple enough. Thanks guys.
  16. Yea... I'm not expecting no big blow out. Just running for the experience. Pushing myself to just see how much time and effort I can put into a simple model since I'm new and still learning many novice things.
  17. Is anyone else going to enter the Revell Model Car Championships? I bought my 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 from Michael's yesterday and got started right away. This will be my first attempt at any type of Championship or even competing at all. Not much goes on in Va for models. Compared to last years winner's, I highly doubt I'll even place. But I enjoy putting Models together and you never know unless you try. If you need more information on the Championship, check out the link. The cool thing about this years Championship, it they will allow Modern Muscle Cars, Trucks (Small PU- Big Rigs), as well as WWII Airplanes. You get all the info and Rules at the link below. 18. Not yet. Thinking of a Gun Metal or a rich Blue. Any suggestion?
  19. Awesome! Any idea on size?
  20. So, I'm new to the scene (refer to post count on your left) of Modeling. Currently, I'm building the Revell 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in 1:25 Scale. I'm trying to add (what I consider) some serious detail. I was curious if anyone has any tips or pointers as far as making Fuel Rails? I have access to multiple gauges of wire. Thanks in advance for any help. Side Note: I love this forum! I have learned so much and am able to apply so much more effort into my models therefore making it more enjoyable and time consuming. Great forum and a great group of people. I look forward to many years of following this forum.
  21. Lowered the Camaro. Using a round needle file, I filed out the Axle holes to allow the chassis and body to sit lower on the tires. For me, HUGE difference. Photo's below. Before: Axle Holes- Stock Ride Height- After: Modified Axle Hole- Custom Ride Height-
  22. Welcome to my build. Their won't be any real special things about this Camaro. I picked it up from Michael's with a 50% coupon ($11.54 Total ) This model came without the motor so I'm going to try and spend some more time on the details. So, without further ado, My 2010 Chevy Camaro SS/RS Coupe. Unboxing- Overall, the body looks good and clean. Minimal flash, no warping. Part holes also look clean and flash free. [ My seats colored using a Silver Sharpie. Really like these seats as they are vinyl (rubber) material. And the brake rotors. They needed something to really change it up. So, I got out my trusty Pin Vise, smallest bit I had and made me some drilled Brake Rotors. Stock Wheels with Rubber. Hard to tell but I took my Fine Point Black Sharpie Pen and colored in the Lug Nut holes. Contemplating adding Stem Valves. Here's 2 pictures that will be corresponding with each other. I've always liked my cars setting a little lower. Fitment to me is everything. So, I'm thinking that if I sand out the Axle Holes (First Picture), the car it self will set lower. Stance in second picture is just a little too high for my taste. If I could get some input from anyone, I just want to make sure that it should work with minimal modifications. To Be Continued...
  23. Man am I excited for this!!! Ive been wanting to know about stuff along these lines so I can trial and error my builds.
  24. You don't know me. And this is crazy! But your model skills... ARE AMAZING!!!! This is unreal!! Like many others have said, to have your imagination with modeling skills would lead to never ending fun. Heck, by using a sharpie on my last model I thought I had entered into a new frontier. Compared to this, I'm still on the porch. Very nice work!! Can't wait for the end product.
  25. Future work: So I am thinking of getting (maybe building) and trailer so that I can make it a combo model. Maybe put an older T-Bird on the trailer. Got to take it to the shop to install the new motor.
