My mother brought me these today. Don't know much about them or value and their detail is weak. If I can't sell them, might just pop them open and detail myself.

So my mother brought me two 1:18 scale track cars. I'm not entirely sure if they are good finds or just "shrug your shoulders" and move on. Any/All help would be great!!

I love it! Always been a sucker for the S-14's. Color is spot on as well as the wheels. Would love to see/hear how you made the lips for the wheels.

Why did you start modeling? Let's here the stories as to why/how you began modeling. I started modeling because every other hobby I tried got bored very very quick. Video games, computer games, art, photo design, and many more to add to the list. Modeling, for me, is a great way to spend my down time (at work mostly) while usually being happy with my outcome. It actually stretches my mind to think, "Well if I try this..." or, "I wonder how that will look if I do this..." It allows me to create any color combo, crazy design or just down right unrealistic car I want. I can build something that suits me as an individual. So let's here your story.

Can I ask how you plan on putting the RideMakerz wheels on the mustang? Reason I ask is because I have an 07 GT500 on the way and I've never been a fan of the OEM wheels. I'm thinking of using some Diecast wheels as replacement. Given that Diecast cars have metal axles and the Revell 07 GT500 doesn't. Great start to a big build. I've wanted to build this model but trying to get some more experience under my belt. Love your choice of the Foose wheels (I think Foose) and modification you did to them. Door's look great too!!

Wow! Maybe I should pick me up another one of these kits... No, nevermind. Regardless, your's turned out GREAT!!! The kit itself lacks a lot of detail and as you mentioned, very cheesy. Nevertheless, what you was able to do with such a "Low-Grade Kit" makes it that much better. Great job!!

Here is something else you may want to check into. I am also interested in scratch building so I compiled a bunch of information (found within these forums) into one topic for an easy Go-To type deal. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72172

So glad your back to posting for this build. Got worried it was dropped. Love it so far. Fender Flares is going to give it some serious attitude.

Those "DUH" Moments...
MikeyB08 replied to MikeyB08's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
lmao... These are great! Im looking forward to having senior moments. Seems more excuseable. -
So... it seems as if for the past 2 weeks, I've had nothing but DUH moments. Nothing serious, but it's always the simple DUH moments that really get the best of you. Upon ordering the Revell 1:25 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee, everything was golden (given I understand the lack of detail and phoniness of this kit). Scissors doors? Really?! Got past it, whatever. My initial plan for this model was to create the Charger out of Fast Five that Vin and Paul used to pull the vault, interior/ trunk cage and all. It was going to be my first true scratch built object ever. So, with research about Roll Cage scale, blah blah blah, I decide to order some styrene from Plastruct. Upon ordering 3 different times and getting my shipment today, I then realize that not once, twice but three times ordered the wrong size. Lesson: PAY ATTENTION!! What's your greatest "DUH" moment?

Man... That's one beautiful model. Decals are really impressive. Great job!

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing Chris. I've never stripped a model of paint. Just might be doing it soon just to try this stuff out. -
Paint Strippers - What to Use?
MikeyB08 replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
On Facebook, a page names ScaleTunedCustomz posted this picture of the Integra they are working on. To me, this is an ingenious idea. Figured I would post it here. They are using an old Revell Display case turned upside down. -
Wishing you the best Chris!! Prayers are sent with many more to follow!

Is it safe to assume your De-Chroming? I just used household bleach for the first time today and it did wonders. Within minutes it was clean of chrome. Purple Power... Not sure about -
How do you achieve these results?
MikeyB08 replied to TurboKitty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I share your questions Michelle. The biggest hick-up I have is finding the measurements for actual cars and parts and scaling them down to the appropriate size (1:24/ 1:25). -
what do these terms meen?
MikeyB08 replied to antiliers's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
HaHa... Patience young grasshopper. Even the best builders still have room for improvement. I can compare my first model with my 4 model and can see a huge difference. Just take your time and have fun. More Terms: CA Glue- Cyanoacrylate- Fast acting adhesives. i.e. Super Glue
