  1. thats a great idea and and cool build!! Merc's answer the the '68 Hemi Dart?!?!
  2. looking good!!! I have that one on my "to get" list as well.
  3. thanks Bill, I'll shoot some sealer on it and see how it looks....
  4. I am working on a revell '71 cuda, with the seperate grille/lower front fenders. I got the kit in a trade, and the previous owner glued the grille assembly in with what looks to be epoxy, or really strong CA glue, and he did a really good job, with no discernable gap between the parts, either visually or by finger. doesnt look like it needs filler at all. the problem is that after priming with white primer, the gap is still visible, as a dark line. do i need to seal with sealer first??? or just use darker primer, then overcoat with white primer, before it gets its hemi orange final coat.
  5. i had heard that, but wasnt sure, and had forgotten about it, thanks for the heads up!!! fury3, your assistance has been absolutely huge!! thank you...
  6. there's a '69 z28 in hugger orange with white stripes and white houndstooth interior in a local classic wrecking yard, that got me thinking about this color combo, then i found this: http://www.cudaworld.com/adDetail.php?cat_...&ad_id=1676 and that sealed it for me. i am planning on just stripping the kit bumpers and painting them as you stated. and the wheels will be the"cop cars" from the revell '70 roadrunner, not correct steelies, i know, but close enough for me. i am still debating the go wing, since it needs to be black, and might detract from the orange/white theme....but then again, the tires and part of the interior are black, so who knows...... and i just wanted to do the elastomeric bumpers, just to be even more different.
  7. thanks for the great info fury3!!!!!!! let me run this combo idea past you: '71 cuda, 440+6, hemi orange, white billboards, white interior( with black carpet, dash and console), sport hood, rear "go wing", hemi orange steel wheels, body color grille, and frt and rear elastomeric bumpers with optional driving lamps, and pistol grip 4 speed is a combo that could have been ordered in 1971, correct??? i am looking for the white billboards and interior just do something different from black.
  8. 1. how do you order from keith, fotki??? I dont have an ebay account. thinking of building a bit more mainstream 440 powered 'cuda, with the 440 billboards from keith. 2. on the '71 cuda, with both the 440, and 440+6, what hoods were available with each engine?? 3. also, the elastometric, body colored rubber bumpers, were they a regular option, rare, etc?? and where they front, rear or both???? and did the grille color change from body color??, i seem to remember reading that it went to argent with the body color bumpers??? 4. and finally, were the magnum 500 style "road wheels" available, or just the rallyes?? thanks in advance guys!!!! just really want to build a fish a bit less "normal"...
  9. Virgil, dont sweat the "s"!!! its looks great... rust and patina isnt prejudiced against weathering the signage, too!! i think the "s" just gives it even more character.
  10. absolutely beautifull!!!!
  11. its not just you, didnt show up for me either.
  12. i am using the standard detail master ignition wire
  13. Jon, for whats it worth, I always enjoy watching projects with large amounts of scratchbuilding come together, and you are doing a great job.
  14. got a Tamiya 1995 Skyline GT-R V-SPEC from amazon.com...pretty reasonable price, too
  15. I think you nailed the "patina", Tom...
  16. I just ordered mine from HLJ on saturday......
  17. try http://www.psfhobbies.com/ they have a cowl induction hood...
  18. a dark tan interior would be my first choice, followed by light tan, then light grey
  19. thanks for the review guys, you just lightened my wallet by forcing me to order one from HLJ!!! and along with a Countach, and a 70's Corolla that I just had to have, there goes some IROC rebuild $$
  20. Bob, Izzy, thanks for the great info!!! sounds like my $10 hobby shop purchase while on vacation in Oregon was well worth it. I actually bought this kit to replicate Magnum's car as I'm a huge Magnum fan.....but I am really liking your blue ones!!!
  21. Izzy, earlier this year I bought a RoG 308 kit, its a very simple curbside kit with plastic axles, is it possible this is the same kit??? from the description of yours, it sounds like it might be..
  22. I havent had a problem yet using duplicolor primer sealer.....
  23. just curious how many of you like to clear over BMF, and if anyone will put a thin layer of clear down before BMF as well??
  24. Ismael, love your 308!!! what kit is that??
  25. i voted B5 as well...and i agree with the modified aar stripe, or possible a variation on the hockey stick.. and a modern 6.1 hemi would look cool as well, maybe twin turbo..
