  3. nowhere near finished, just wanted to see where I was at so far and what else I needed to get the shape I want
  4. a few small updates for today. I have a little more done on the engine, and we now have whitewalls thanks for looking guys.
  5. I love it. I'm thinking 60's custom with supremes and white walls, and throw a 409 in it. something like this....
  6. you found me, from right in the heart of central kentucky. I'm not in a club though, lone wolf lol
  7. thanks hjracing I've got the dash roughed in, I'm still not sure if I'll even use it, I'm going to see how it turns out first. I still have alot of work to do, lots of body filler. any tips would be awesome.
  8. I have the engine and wheels shot in testors lime ice. just trying to line the perfect tire combo that will fit with my wheels now. next on the agenda is to get some paint on the chassis and get the engine finished. still working on the dash situation
  9. perfect stance and chop. I love it!
  10. indeed, that truck was the main reason I liked the movie lol
  11. here's some inspiration for you guys, I bet you'll never guess what movie the truck in the last 2 pictures is from.
  12. thanks hgbben I don't know how this will work out but I'm going to give it a whirl. on the left is a dash from the parts box, I don't even know what its out of, on the right is a dash out of a snap kit chevy (same as 454 ss) and I'm going to attempt to combine them so I have the guage cluster and such from the vintage dash and the profile that matches the windshield from the factory chevy dash. For now I'm just going to look at them and plot my next move, any tips are welcome and if you know what the dash is out of I would appreciate it. thanks for looking
  13. very cool looking, I'm keeping an eye on this
  14. NICE!!!
  15. so my jaw is bruised from hitting the floor after looking at this build, amazing work! I guess I need to go back to building snap kits lol
  16. ahh lol. I've always loved that truck
  17. sorry lol, I wanted it bad thanks, I love the truck in your avatar, reminds of the little shop of horrors s10
  18. yeah yeah yeah, I know. Between my 64 chevy truck, 70's chevy 4x4, 34 ford truck, plus a catalina, a gmc wrecker, 49 merc, and chevy street pickup that haven't been worked on in ages, and now this, I have about ten bazillion projects going on right now but I can't help myself. When an idea pops in my head I have to start it. Finishing it is a whole other story but we won't go there today. Anyway, what we have here is an amt 454 ss I got on ebay as an opened kit parts lot, it came with the mad mudder axles and wheels that I'm using on my other truck so I'm guessing someone was wanting to convert it to 4x4 but didn't get very far. The kit seemed to be all there until I started going through it, upon finding that one of the front spindles was missing I was slightly disheartened (I was thinking "dang, what do I do now") after about a day or two of pondering I decided to man up and hone my scratchbuilding skills and made one out of a parts tree, I still need to make the part the tie rod mounts to but the main part is finished as you can see in the next two pictures. As for the direction this build is going, my plan is to go the retro shop truck route. the kit will be pretty much box stock aside from the wheels and pie crust drag slicks from the 62 catalina and some tweaking to get the suspension lower. I'm going flat black with some patina and lime green wheels and engine and possibly white interior and a dash from and older 50's or 60's car
  19. thanks for the comments guys. and to brokentail58, I'm using the axle that came with the revell mad mudder blazer kit, it's the same as the monogram axle and fits in the same spot, the shakles are just taller to give it more lift
  20. thanks for all the comments guys quick question what was the factory engine color for a 350 v8 in this year model, the engine is primed and ready to paint, I just haven't figured out what color yet
  21. thanks brizio! I have the new rear driveshaft made out of a piece of the parts tree. I'm now thinking of using the mad mudder wheels and tires (possibly switch out the wheels for the factory six lugs) since the mad mudder tires have a little bit better proportion to the kit. enjoy. and as always tips are welcome
  22. I'm starting with the monogram chevy 4x4, I added the axles from the revell mad mudder, and the wheels are aftermarket. other than that, the build will be pretty much box stock aside from wiring etc. and possible scratchbuilt bumper. as of now I need to make a longer rear drive shaft and a few things before I get the frame in paint.
