  1. OK I looked at the rim closer...definitly a Viper! But I'll be patient and see what you got, no matter what it is, its gonna be show room quality!
  2. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say Dodge Charger for your next build?? The turnbine car looks spectacular!!!
  3. I'd say its orange peel, I started sanding it down, I hope that works for it, I wanted it done for a car show and well, that won't happen! But I may just dunk it in Super Clean and start it over, I've put quite a bit of time in this and need the clean finish. I'm gonna try to reshoot it after I get it wet sanded smooth.
  4. Heres the body before its wet sanded, I hope to get to that by Tuesday, I'm not so sure what went wrong, or if its just the Lindberg plastic but the body seems a bit "pitty" the feel is rather smooth but it needs a hell of a sanding. You can see the pitty effect in the fender glare. Then heres the finished interior, the seats and floor are flocked.
  5. Just freakin impressive!!! I have enough problems getting a gloos finish and here your making things look oh so very realistic....Great Job!!
  6. I applogize for the misunderstanding. I'm a fan of most motor sports, I watch NASCAR the most though. And living in Wisconsin any local races I go to are all late model. Otherwise I love most motorsports, except crotch rockets racing and the touring ###### and anything similiar to those! I used to think Micheal Waltrip was ok and in the 90s had a thing for Jarrett, but with Jarrett having 1 provisional left, I don't think he'll race again and Waltrip keeps screwing up he may end up in a booth before to long.
  7. Why wouldn't it matter to me thats all they race in the midwest is late model, and if you knew anything about drag racing, you'd know all funny cars run hemi motors. And just like in NASCAR, Toyota won't do worth a ###### in NHRA. And if anyone thinks Toyota is doing anything good in NASCAR, your a little naive. Just think after Jarrett uses his last provisional, he may never race again.
  8. Are you replicating anyone in general? Have any updates of it?
  9. Due to lack of funds I missed the Milwaukee show  I know theres more thorugh out the year, does anyone know when they are :?:
  10. see if you can find a custom paint mixer that can be put into a rattle can, theres a guy here in Madison, WI. if I get a chance I'll swing by him and see if he has an online store or at least get you his contact info.
  11. Sorry my update is a week late... Primer still needs to be wet sanded, hopefully by Tuesday. The glass work has 3 coats of Future floor wax. Started running the brake lines, still have quite a bit of work to go. the red and black are the battery cables, the silver is the fuel line, the copper in the back is the one of the first brake lines. Its all a work in progress!! This is my first model I have tried to run brake cables, fuel lines, future wax and used flocking on, I'm learning alot as I go, any tips would be great, thanks!!
  12. Well, I appreciate the explination to the 17 inchers, in my opinion its getting sickening on how people are putting these huge rims and low pro tires on everything! I can understand filling out the wells better, by using them as well as a normal tire on them.
  13. Jarius you are the man, now maybe "some" people can spell without thinking how to type with a southern drawl!!!
  14. The 455 idea, good idea, but please what ever you do, stay away from the 17" wheels! Go stock on the wheels, this isn't a ghetto car! Looking good so far, keep us updated.
  15. I did find use for that sandy primer, I sprayed the bed with it and I'll spray my final color over it, and it should have the look and feel of a bed liner. I plan to spray the frame as well the same way to have the underliner coating effect. So I think I may have found a use for this mistake! Luckily I got it off the parts I didn't want it on, it came off really easy.
  16. What kit are the Mustangs???? I'd like to think Revells Muscle Car Line
  17. Thats not out of a can thats out of a tube, I brushed on Elmer's Glue, and with a small strainer I layed the flocking over it, rather simple really. As for building the kit, the biggest pain is putting the motor together is so far the biggest pain, but the hard part is in the past, the toughest part for me now is being patient!! I don't have a digital camera so I'll have updated pics next Saturday. Thanks for looking.
  18. That is a great color, almost looks like a iredesant metalic. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
  19. You know, before Toileta came along, I used to hate Chevy on the track, and now I can say it, you've made a Chevy worse! But as a model builder, I wish you luck, for anyone who can duplicate a stock car, best of luck. Why you'd pick Wreckamen is beyond me but, best of luck.
  20. I started on the Lindberg a couple weeks ago and havn't gotten to far. I went to prime it up and came across what I thought would be a good primer to use, Sand White Primer. If your not new to this you know where I went wrong! Thats not the name of the color, theres sand in this primer! So I found my self sanding the sand away! Lucky for me this is easy to wet sand away. But as I adjusted this, oops. I got the flock applied to the interior and part of the block put together, keep in mind the interior paint is still a work in progress and so is the motor! Will have new pics next weekend hopefully!!
  21. Nice custom hood! Looks good so far. Its nice to see not everyone is creating jap ###### low riders with their talents! Keep it up!
  22. Doesn't wet sanding after a few coats of clear help get a good smooth coat for a final clear? Or will this naturally happen when polishing. Merker XR4Ti, thanks for the good advice as well.
  23. I've ordered flocking and other stuff, not the transfers, but they have them, from Detail Master, I put the flock to use for the first time and it turned out awesome, I should have pics on next weekend. As of this post they had Shabo Transfer for immediate delivery.... http://detailmaster.com/Merchant2/merchant...tegory_Code=SHA And a ton of flocking colors as well, I highy recommend this flocking... http://detailmaster.com/Merchant2/merchant...ode=DM-Flocking Good luck!
  24. Mr Obsessive says to use a 600 grit to wet sand the primer, I do believe him, as I've seen his work, but after the 600 do you go with a higher grit? I did practice on a "junker" and used a 10,000 plus grit for the final sanding and it was as smooth as glass. Then I went on to put on approx. 5 coats of the choosen color, wet sanded that until it was as smooth as I could get it, and applied 2 more coats, I'm stil in the process of finishing my practice job. But when it comes to polishing it for that beautiful shine I see on everyones finished project, thats what I'm really trying to go for in the end. It seems that people recommend a 4,000 grit then 12,000 grit final wet sanding. I guess I'm confused on how wet sanding creates such a glorious shine.
  25. Is is possible to keep the glass on the tree when dipping it or is the elmers a better way to go?
