  1. Great work especailly on the interior!
  2. I accidentally came across House of Kolor paint, I wanted some reviews on it. I've heard mixed reviews. I want to use it on a Linberg model I'm going to put down a white primer to protect the plastic, but I read the label on the House of Kolor 3 step program, it says all coats should go on in 2 coats each and within a couple hours between step 1 and 3. Is there any sanding between coats needed, or should I just apply it as label directions? Also I was told that dipping the windshields and other windows into Future Floor Wax and seeting it aside for a couple weeks, will give it a true glass look, how well does this work? And I don't have an airbrush system so will dipping the body into Future work, or is that best sprayed on to?Thanks.
  3. Gorgous build, looks great, that should definetly turn some heads!
  4. I'm not much a Chevy person, but I think even I'd have fun building this kit. I think its looks good, the roll pan looks real nice, I know you said the wheels wouldn't be tucked under so much and I couldn't agree more, the fronts almost look good as they are but hopefully you raise the rear end a bit so the top of the tires aren't hidden so much by the rear fenders. Otherwise, good luck, it has a lot of potential and should look great in the end, keep us posted!
  5. yes Dave thank you so much now my life is complete :| Then it will more complete after the Ebay idiot gets me the darn thing. :x
  6. I appreciate the offer and right now I enjoy the challenge of a "do it myself" if I get frustrated enough with I'll let you know, but for now I think I'm gonna do the old "pop the hood" method and try to replicate it that way. I still haven't recieved the model yet so I wanted to know what to expect and there was a good point, in todays vehicles theres not much for detail, so I may just do the brake, fuel and battery cable lines and see how that goes. I'll look into billett parts since it seems possible at its scale as well. Thanks for all the info everybody.
  7. I was wondering if anyone has built this model before? I havn't recieved it, I won it off of Ebay. It looks like it has alot of detail and am wondering if detail can be added. I've only built Revell and its time to try something else! I love the actual truck and want to add ignition wire, plug wires, brake lines, ect. Basically are Detail Master parts easy to fit on the the motor parts? If you know of any links to the specs on this truck or just a diagram for the firing order that would be a big help! Also let me think of what you thought of the model as you built it and if its worth taking my sweet time on! Thanks everybody!
  8. For egine stands, although Bill's is awesome, I went to Home Depot and got an Iwrin mini clamp and it works great for holding the engine tightly together as the glue dries and it works perfect for stands for drying paint and for displaying. It was a whopping $3.50! Works great for other model uses as well. Oh and Bill, the motor is beyond detail!! Looks great!
  9. that helped but new question! :? Whts crazing :?:
  10. Just a few questions for anyoone but I feel Mr. Obsessive is the best for answers! But please, feel free anyone to help out. I've asked around and nobody localy can explain why Future Floor Wax would be put on a model before it gets primed. I have heard from one guy who says he dips all his windshields and windows in Future and puts them in a box ofr about a month to dry, giving them a real glass look. But whats the point of spraying it on before painting or priming? Another question, I've seen the engine from the Turbine car, looks just beautiful, what are you using for all your break lines, linkages, and connectors? I want to start running brake lines on my models and have no idea where to start. I appreciate the help, thanks!
  11. What exactly is orange peel? Someone have a pic of it?

    GT-90

Its bad enough NASCAR took up Toyota and the COT, I love the GT 90 but thats one more thing NASCAR doesn't need.
  13. I finished the Duallie, its was very disapointing in my opinion. You can't really tell but the red color on the box and the cab are the same color, but the bed had more coats due to a tape mistake. So the bed has a darker color, at that point I pretty much gave up on it and threw it together. I felt part of the motor didn't fit the best, the upper hose doesn't connect that great the intake had to be shaved down to fit even okay. I felt the bumpers went on very complicated I had to flip the truck over to get the front bumper to go on with out holding the part until the glue cured. Also I need to work on the tailgate it doesn't like to stay up on its own the best. I still recommend this model to anyone as its very detailed and quite complicated in my opinion. I did enjoy building it and will be building it again, this project went way wrong, it was supposed to be a truck used as a drag car hauler. I plan to rebuild this along with a Fairlane drag car as a matching set. I just got all my flocking, battery cables and braided hoses in for the next project. I plan on ordering alot of billet parts and taking my super sweet time in the next build. I hope to start on that in April and don't care how long it takes me to build.
  14. B-E-A-U-TIFUL!!! Looks great
  15. Wondering if you know who made this?
  16. I've only used Model Master, I like it since they make actual manufactuer colors. But it seems everyone around here likes Tamiya. So have you ever used both and have a preference over either??
  17. Finished or not it looks great! I'm gonna take an educated guess that an EPA Traktor is a German Vehicle :?: :?
  18. Does anyone know of any step by step web sites? A visual always helps the best, I get nervous when I hear wet sanding over a finished product!
  19. Thats a great build though, I lied and I'm going to post the updated pics now the truck. I will be rebuilding this project that I'm planning on. As you can see the bed of the truck and the cab of the truck are slightly different in paint. The exact colors were used only at a different time. I want to build this with the customized mustang pro street on a trailer. Next time I build I'm going to paint each at the same time to get the best paint results. But here it is.... I've learned alot from this site and builing this model, now I know how to make it better next time, even though I have a ways to go on this one!!
  20. My original plan with this is to make the truck and a matching 65 Mustang that I would customize into a pro street that this truck would pull it on a trailor. As I build this I realize I may go for a second build as I'm learning things I should have dne differently or just other things I'd like to add to it. I'd love to see the monster truck though.
  21. I did the wax after the clear, I waited till the paint smell was no longer noticable to a reasonable extent. It did show little shine, but as Mr. Obsessive kinda said with out saying, I need to switch to air brushing, I'm satisfied with my painting as I've come along way, but I want to reach the point of that high gloss look, I can't justify buying a air brush set up so, my rattle can work will have to do for now, and hopefully by next year I can work my way to the air brush set up. I think for now I'll learn the tips and find out the tools that I need until then. But for now I'm looking for any tips and tools that are required. Thanks for the help everyone, I'll be watching for everyones tips and hints!
  22. I still scratch my head on how you guys get such great paint finishes. For my latest biuld, I warmed the cans to the point were I need to use a hand towel to hold the can, and I have def. noticed the difference. I also for the first time used primer. A couple days after the clear had time to set I used Black Magic auto wax and didn't notice squat. I put on 3 layers of clear and again noticed a slight difference. I havn't wet sanded any final coats as it was reccomended that I leave well enough alone! I have a practice car to try on, whats the recommendation?
  23. Heres a better pic of the cab, I'm still working on the bed panels, I'll post those sometime Monday night hopefully.
  24. not sure about reissued, but it is the monogram, sorry the color is bad, better pics this weekend.
  25. Let me know what you had to do to get the polish to work, my girlfriend asked me the same thing, you could try using O.P.I. polish it has some wild colors but each bottle runs around $8. Keep us posted on how it turns out.
