"Snarky" is employed most accurately when used to describe speech with a specific emotional tone, typically a form of sarcasm and a mild, playful irreverence, but it often offends the habitually thin-skinned who may lack wit, with underdeveloped senses of humor.

How do I black wash a grille ?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Ctmodeler's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Just to add a little info...for my first washes, I tried "The Detailer" pre-mixed black wash and was sorely disappointed. It dried glossy, not at all the look I wanted It also began flaking off of instrument faces after a couple of months. -
Does that go for all wives, or only the 350-pound ex lady-wrestler kind?

Tips for Repairing Broken Windshield Pillar
Ace-Garageguy replied to In2Carz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Best answer so far. A removable repair that leaves no trace is vastly preferable to a half-..... permanent repair. EDIT: One thing I can tell you...an absolutely undetectable repair CAN indeed be accomplished by someone with the requisite skills, including but not limited to color-matching paint for the pillar, and very fine airbrush work. But the cost of such a repair at $35/hr, the absolute minimum anyone having said skills should work for, could very likely run to hundreds of dollars. Considering I've seen an auction estimate of $3000, and a report of one actually selling for $1800 and change, that seems reasonable, but a bodged repair will significantly reduce the potential value. -
It can be argued that the $10,000 annual award made by Amazon to recipients of its engineering scholarship is likewise fairly insignificant, when one looks at the vast resources Amazon has to draw from compared to Metal Supermarket, and the cost disparity between an engineering degree and the typical vocational program. I don't know about you, but $2500 would pretty much cover my annual utilities in a small house, and I'd certainly be very happy to have one less expenditure to have to deal with...especially if I were working while in training.

Looking for a drop axle for AMT '29 Ford pickup/woody
Ace-Garageguy replied to Mr mopar's topic in Wanted!
A dropped Ford front axle will work on just about anything with a transverse front spring as long as it's the right width. Real Ford I-beam axles are frequently swapped around to achieve different track widths and stances, too. You fine-tune the ride height the printed parts shown above will give by filing off spring leaves. EDIT: Shown below is the dropped axle included in the early Revell '31 Ford Woody and all its derivatives, under an AMT '32 Ford with a custom front crossmember. You just have to understand how real suspension like this works. -
They've been available off and on in old-school resin just about forever. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jimmy-Flintstone-1927-Ford-Roadster-Resin-Body-175-/200810513421?_ul=IL

How does a UV-curing product cure inside a joint where UV can't reach it to initiate the reaction? -
Good and bad are not necessarily polar opposites, and then there's ugly.

Interesting, and a couple even have some merit. Also interesting is that even the worst of them (well, almost) are no more horribly bizarre than some of the styling departments' and talentless customizers' efforts in days past. The '70 Eldo is one of the most perfect designs to ever have been built, so it's no real surprise that AI fails to improve it...though I wonder where it got the idea for the reverse-leaning back window that looks like an old Mercury...

Google's idiotic auto-complete on every search. It's pretty obvious at this point the powers-that-be at Google think they're smarter than everybody else. They're not...not by a long shot. Midwits, every one of 'em.
