Dodge rollback
signguy2108 replied to JamesW's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That is going to be nice. Here's one from the late 90's. Rollback bed was a resin kit, but I don't remember who made it. -

The toterhome body is scratchbuilt plaststruct. Trailer is modified freuhuaf van. Need refence material, google T&E trailer sales or featherlite specialty. Awesome sites for trailer builders. Deelagancemodeltrucks has some beautiful trailers on it, too! thanks for the comments. This hauler is for a Mcewen-based duster nostalgia funny car. The toterhome body is scratchbuilt plaststruct. Who Remembers?
signguy2108 replied to signguy2108's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Sadly, it's gone. Had the old AutoWorld wheat bulbs for head & taillights W/ battery pack in sleeper. Overdrive & OO were about the best reference material back then. I bought em just for the model page! Thanks for the nice comments. -

I had a model of it. It could not escape my wife's spring cleaning! I put square headlites in it in 1983 out of a F600. It was a good looking truck in the day, but short w/b would scare you death on wet pavement. -

Back in the 80's, I ran a K apportioned tag on front only. Lic. for 6 states under the IRP program. It was black w/ yellow letters then. They are school bus yellow W black letters now. See attached photo. Ran permanet plate on trailer. I think it was White W/ black letters. Hope it helps. -
Owner-Operator Magazine Table Top Trucking? This was 1981, spelled my name wrong, but I got it in the magazine! Back then, that was almost as exciting as winning the lottery.

Nice! Nothing wrong with the snap kits when they are detailed like this. Love the headache rack! -
Here are a few more pics from days gone by. Picture quality is not real good. Raining tears on my new laptop!

Blasts From The Past

Wow! How long did it take to load 1400 pic? This is what got me back into the hobby. I'm just overwhelmed by the talent & quality of the models out there. When I started modeling, I did it for relaxation, mostly only seen by a few close friends or trucking buddies. Where I live you had no model shows in the area. If you wanted reference material on a new truck, you had to drive a 100 miles at least. Now just about anything you want to build is only aclick away. I could rattle on all nite, but I've got 1390 pictures left to look at! -

The toter box is scratchbuilt, pete cab and frame is an old italeria part. Trailer is an amt fruehauf w/ sides sanded smooth, 2" added to it, lower skirts added. Will have motor home style graphics, newer wheels & power supply box on frt. when finished. Building duster nostalgia funny car for it. Thanks for looking. -

Hello, back into model trucking after a long (2004) absence. Live in south Arkansas, am 57 yrs old, have owned a trucking co., auto body shop, & a sign shop over the last several years. Disabled now after a couple of heart surgeries, needed something to occupy my time. Had a pretty good collection of about 60 trucks till 2004 when my wife decided i needed to spent more time with her. Cuaght me gone drag racing one weekend and threw all my model collection in the dumpster! Yes, i'm still married to her. Anyway started over recently & found this forum. So much information, so little brain to process it! So hello everyone. Below is some of the old stuff. You will have to excuse the focus, they were taken in the late 90's with a 35mm camera & rookie photographer. Got a couple of new projects started, will post later.

Great looking trailer! We can now use the old Fruehaufs for storage trailers.
