  1. Someone just wanted to throw a brick at a hornet's nest to see what would happen! I don't build them, but I love to look at 'em. They are part of this hobby just as much as ships, planes , & military models.
  2. Forgot to edit first! should say world of information on this forum.
  3. Welcome! Don't see anything here to laugh about, good looking trucks. You will find a whole world (no pun intended) on this forum.
  4. Cool ride. Take off the chrome wheels, throw a little mud on it, you would have a redneck daily driver in south Arkansas!
  5. They all look good Jim. Gotta find a w cab!
  6. Love the rust! By the way, we are NEVER 100% satisfied! That's why we keep working on them. Will be watching this one for sure!
  7. Should be a nice project. I haven't bought one of these yet because I didn't care for the real one, but I'm liking it more & more as a day cab! Will watch this build.
  8. Sleeper turn out really nice! gonna be a good looking truck. Someone asked a while back to see something other than red, we'll flood em with blue trucks! Waiting to see this finished. Larry
  9. Well I'm calling this one finished, at least for now. Hands are not what they used to be, dropped it in the floor Sat. and spent most of yesterday putting it back together for pics. Still needs air lines behind cab, but that can wait. On to the toter home! P.S. Jacabus, the front bumper is a piece of aluminum, polished, and the ends rolled w/ a rubber hammer and a socket! Stacks are car radio antenna, when you grind the ends they turn burnt brown. Hope you all like it!
  10. Good looking trucks. Love the jeep & Dodge service truck!
  11. Thanks Chad. The cab extenders were popular mid-90's,truckers looking for any mileage increase.Kenworth sold them thru their parts dept. I installed several pair when I had my body shop, About 50% of my business was big truck repair. The front bumper is aluminum, polished and the ends rolled. I still have to put the tow holes & step hole in it. Alot more small details to be done, pictures later.
  12. Sorry Tim! Your right, they did achieve their goal, but from a driver standpoint they missed their mark on styling. Driver recruitment means alot and I remember when the Kenworth T-600 came out. Drivers were screaming about not wanting to be seen in it. A certain food wholesaler in little rock bought several T-600's and the first week they had drivers calling in sick because they didn't want to be seen in one. Once they got used to the ride and manuverability (big word) , they loved them.I had a Ford 9000 w/ a silver 6V92 at the time that was gettin 5.2 mpg!
  13. This is one I started a couple of month ago. Snap kit with alot of extras, lenghtened the w/b, 1/4 fenders, mud flaps, cab extenders , etc. these snap kits can make nice models with a little work. Still have to finish interior, engine, and a few other details. Did I say finish? Wonder when that will be!
  14. Peterbuilt had the 372, which the whole nose tilted up to work on it. Freightliner had the Argosy & International had the low cab-setback axle 97-9800. Early 90's attempt at aerodynamic cabovers. J.B.Hunt & Builders Transport ran the inter;s to name a couple.
  15. I thought a hobby was to relieve stress? This much detail cannot be good for your nerves! Looks SUPER!
  16. Just found this site called straightstack.com. Lot of photos in the gallery section.
  17. Will have the family in my prayers. I've been there twice! Good luck.
  18. Brute muscle. Looks like it could handle any job!
  19. Cleaning the shop and found my old autocar. What's left of it, anyway. Started out to be a barko 160 log loader, just never was finished. Maybe one day!
  20. Hessel, thanks for the correction. Meant no harm, I'm from Arkansas, knew I couldn't read it!
  21. Bing image search for a white 9064 yeilds some good pics of the hood & grille on a 1962 model.
  22. You can google or bing paystar 5000 images. There are all types of paystars on it.
  23. Welcome Mark! Like you ,I have been out of the hobby for a long time and when I found this forum it renewed my interest in the hobby. So many things have come a long way since I was in it before, and the level of builds just amaze me! Again, welcome.
