1st Gen Raptor
Platerpants replied to Platerpants's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Carl, My 12 year old brother asked me when i got the kit why i got a "skill one" kit, You should build level 3 kits" i told him that the vehicle is what interests me not the skill level. He keeps telling me he wants to build a skill 3 because he is 12 and the skill 3 kits say 12 and older. I told him they are the same as a 2 and only have more parts which i dont think he is ready for yet considering most his level 2 kits usually end up missing important visible engine parts or loose suspension parts like shackles on the 3 f150 kits he has. He also seems to want to be just like me he wants to own a 97 or 2000 f150 like me but green, and he has nearly as many f150 models as i do... Anyway thanks again guys.- 10 replies

Not My Usual Build.
Platerpants replied to Platerpants's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This is as far as i have gotten. After some thought i decided the hood was not gonna fly after painting the cowl and roof. Still waiting on Bumpers, grille, and cummins. -
The kit will need a good detailing like the autoshow raptor... but will not need lifted like it nor will the lights need as much detailing. The front bumper shoulda been seperate in blavk plastic like the rear. And the sunroof shoulda been on the tinted glass

Well i am waiting on parts for my 78 ford havent felt the mini trucks and my silverado and escalade are on the back burner. Ill give ya a hint it aint a Ford. But it was scrap pieces from ebay. I did invest in a resin suspension because it was broken, a resin grille and bumpers, a resin cummins, and some resin mud tires. I will be doing the decals for it myself.

OHIO!!! Nice work -
If I built 2 my keeper would be my goal with it. Nicer wheels, atleast a 390 v8, non white brush guard 4 speed manual and maybe modernize it a bit. It'd be a whole different truck when I'm done with it. But this simple work truck is nice though.
