Just thought I'd keep it simple Brayden! There's so many routes that could be done, I was also thinking Perth to Darwin via the 'Canning Stock' route...now that would be the ultimate challenge! Even the Sydney to Perth route would be awesome across the Nullarbor plain, quite a few opportunities to go off road... But for now, lets just keep it Darwin to Adelaide....a simple straight run with a few challenges ps: In the end, it's not my call and totally up to the forum members

Seems as though it needs to be Left AND Right hand drive then! My thoughts as I stated before was to keep it just RHD to make things interesting to see what members come up with and utilise their creative juices!!! Either way I'm not fussed at all, should be great fun Better check my stash for a suitable vehicle!

Well Rob, They just finished the "World Solar Car Challenge" here in Australia....the obvious route....Darwin to Adelaide which is just under 2000 miles or you could go from Sydney to Perth which is closer to 2500 miles The Darwin to Adelaide run would be much better, because your in the 'Outback' most of the time and plenty of opportunity to go off road.... Indeed a good reliable vehicle is needed and definitely RHD, makes it more interesting to see what you come up with.... Here's the map The second map shows the Ghan Rail route in red, the main highway pretty much runs parallel with this....your off road leg highlighted in yellow is old Ghan rail line. Cheers Ray
