I did a search, but didn't find what I was looking for. Is it me or are the door lines on the bottom part of the body too far forward? What is the easiest fix? I thought about cutting the panel with the lines and moving it forward.

Sorry if this has been posted before.

Thanks

What are you talking about here? What Futura model are you refering to? We need more specifics before at least I can comment on this problem.

If it's the Revell Lincoln Futura you're talking about, I suspect that the door lines have to be fairly far foward, due to the "thickness" of the body sides. You might spend some time looking up pics of the 1966 TV Batmobile--that was built using the real Lincoln Futura body.

Ah, thanks Art. I was trying to figure out what model kit he was talking about. I thought maybe he had an old Ford Falcon or something else. Bringing up the Lincoln Futura and door lines makes some sense.

My apo;ogies,guys.

Yes,it's the Revell reissue from a few years back. And here's a picture.

This is with the front of the upper and lower parts of body lined up straight. Or does it get staggered a little when the front bumper is in place? I haven't tried that yet.

Thanks again.

That probably can be chalked up to a Revell miscue from almost 60 years ago--IIRC, that kit came out in 1956-57. I believe the door lines on the upper half of the body are the correct omes.

Wow,That kit came out when I was about 5 years old.

I was thinking about cutting the lower part and just move it back to where it's supposed to be instaed of trying to fix the vertical lines of the door.

Ive just checked my Futura and it looks to me that you just need to line the body parts up better. My kit fits perfectly on the door lines ! Do you have the parts for the head lights on ? This brings the top and bottom into line . I hope this helps :)

That might be it Dave. It's just taped together wituout the front bumper on. It might line up better after assembly.

I think Dave maybe right on here. I've gone back and looked at mine. And the door lines seem okay.

There are pins and sockets that align the upper panels correctly with the lower body. Put the pins in the holes, the door lines all line up dead on.

I just checked two different issues to make sure. :)
