cobraman Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Airplane is perhaps better known by the name STORMOVIC. It is 1/48 scale and I do plan on building it in the winter scheme and with the skis. Will have a grey underside and a white top. I will put it on a snow covered base. Wanting to build something other than a car . Edited April 8, 2015 by cobraman
Roadrunner Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Awesome! I love the flying tank, and have the two seater AM kit to do,... one of these days.
atomicholiday Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 ...Wanting to build something other than a car . I can relate to that. And a side effect is that it may renew your passion for car models in the process. Not to mention learning a TON of valuable techniques that you may not pick up doing cars. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
mustang1989 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 An Accurate Miniatures kit. This should be good. Let er rip Ray!
cobraman Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Hey guys, made a little progress on this kit. I have the cockpit interior pretty much done just some touch ups to do. I took some liberties with the colors that were called for as I did not have the exact ones. Hopefully they are close. No pinks or purples ! : )
cobraman Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Thank you much guys. Should have another update soon.
mustang1989 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Turnin' out good Ray! Man these Accurate Miniatures kits are da bomb for detail aint they?
cobraman Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 Detail is pretty good. I should be done in a couple days. Planes have never been an easy build for me and this one is no exception. I had trouble getting the wings to fit right and tight. Also painting the canopy is well, lets just say leaves a lot to be desired. I had considered not even showing pics when I am done but I will. It could be a good example of what not to do. : )

I wouldn't even dream of doing things the old fashioned way any more. http://www.bnamodelworld.com/montex/mon-k48149
cobraman Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 I tried BMF but that didn't really work all that well. I'll take the blame for sloppy work. : )
mustang1989 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) Make no mistake buddy Ray, what you're doin' looks good! I wasn't tryin' to make you feel bad, just trying to help out for next time. Edited April 7, 2015 by mustang1989
cobraman Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 No worries. Nothing make me feel bad. I have no illusions about the limits of my building abilities. A mans got to know his limitations. : )
cobraman Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Ok, here it is for good or bad. (mostly bad ) Had not built a plane in awhile and had some problems as you can see. Did the best that I could and it is what it is as they say. I don't believe I will be building another plane anytime soon. : )
atomicholiday Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Looks pretty cool to me! I wouldn't give it up based on that job. I like it.
Harry P. Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I'm no expert on planes, but that looks pretty darn good to me!
cobraman Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Thank you guys. Perhaps it looks better in the photos. : )
philo426 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I dont see any major problems with it and it looks great on the snow base!
