Elliott'n'KS
Was at the local hobby store the other day and couldn't decide between these two kits so I bought them both. Which one should I start first?
microwheel
Both are good subjects, you can't go wrong with either one. Though the camaro is a little bit more detailed of a kit. The GTO is a little older kit and has been around in verious forms for a long time. Both build up nicely though.
rsxse240
I've always been a fan of the split bumper Camaros. I have never built one...as a Camaro...but many have gone into Novas, Venturas and custom pickups. One of the better AMT small block chevy renderings. I hate the fact that they put trailer tires in this kit. It's one of the reasons I never built one. There's a fella running around my town with a 71 that is super cool. Next time I see it, I'll snap a pic and post it for some motivation
Jantrix
The GTO is a very good, if simple kit. A little detailing goes a long way. The only issue I had, was the rear fenders curved in too much, which pulled the chassis deeper into the back of the body. Some cardboard folded accordion style in between the chassis and the underside of the trunk fixed it nicely.
slusher
Two really good kits. GTO is a easier build...You cant go wrong. Start them both...
Geno
The GTO, it builds out nicely.

Fat Brian
If you're new to modeling I would definitely start with the GTO, it's an easier build but still turns into a nice looking finished build.
Elliott'n'KS
Not new to modeling, but did take about a ten year break. Just about done with one I started a little over a month ago. The Camaro does seem to have a lot more parts to it, which is fine. I'm up for a good challenge.
