wayne swayze Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Great pictures indeed! I really like the 5 window shown, and the little lakes style car.
Jon Haigwood Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Never saw that one before, thanks for posting.it falls in a certain group
Greg Myers Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Yeah. TV shows , old black and white pictures, all in the same group.
unclescott58 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Thanks for the link to the old Life of Riley show. I've always liked William Bendix. This is the first time of ever acutally seen a Life of Riley TV episode. I've heard several of the old Life of Riley Radio shows on cassette tapes. The TV episode was a lot of fun. Cool seeing the old style 50's Hot Rods, and Wally Parks too! This also puts Jr. higher on my list. He and buddies are okay. Last, I do like Riley's line near the end about delinquents with fast being able to outrun the cops. That was funny. And something Riley would say. Scott
oldscool Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) That third one down is just nasty mean looking in a good way. That's about the lowest non channeled deuce I have ever seen. Is the fourth one down Blackies car? Edited April 21, 2015 by oldscool
Greg Myers Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Is the fourth one down Blackies car? I don't think so Edited April 21, 2015 by Greg Myers
pharoah Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Wow... I remember the Life Of Riley when it was on TV,but I was pretty little. I don't remember that episode. Love the old hot rods.
Greg Myers Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 not that far back, but still, back in the day
oldscool Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I don't think so As Emily Litella used to say - "never mind". It is a little similar however.
Mike 1017 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I love these black and white back in the day photos. Check out George Klass Remembers. He has A LOT of B&W photos of all types of drag racing.
bamadon Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I just looked at the George Klass Remembers site and it's great. Hundreds of pictures on there and he includes a summary description of the classes. Thanks for mentioning it.
