James2 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Just kicking around an idea I have, From the Lindberg Kit...
wayne swayze Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Looks very familiar...thought it was mine! Looks real cool with the wheels from the "Rat Roaster" . I will be watching this build for sure! (BTW... I like the tailgate leaned forward at the top!)
slusher Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 What frame do you have under, 32 Ford ?? Looks really good...
mustang1989 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Looks like you're getting a green light here James.............
James2 Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) Thank you, it's a frame from any one of the Revell 32's. I'll post some pics of it as I go along. The bed is shortened, obviously! the top chopped and slightly raked. Wheels from the Rat Roadster. (Which is't a Rat at all) I also ct down the grill to match the channel closer. More to follow... wayne swayze Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Hey James. Seeing this really got me pumped! Thanks for having a look at mine. That was such a great selection for wheels and tires! Looking forward to see where you take this...and trust me, I won't copy yours, although I'm loving it!
James2 Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 I have this M/T engine from another model I haven't finished and thought it would work well. And I think I can even work out a color scheme to suit.
exesivefire Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Off to a great start, this has that "look" for sure
bill_67 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Very cool looking build James, keep it going I'll be watching.
wayne swayze Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Glad you haven't forgotten this! I'm still subscribed.

Cool looking truck. The slanted tailgate gives it a going fast sitting still type of look. Looking forward to more progress. One thing about the wheels and tires. The name of the kit and the car is Rat Roaster not roadster. The rat in the name of the car is not in reference to rat rod it is in reference to "rat motor" as in big block Chevy. Roaster referring to roasting the competition even if they bring a big block Chevy since the rat roaster is powered by a blown small block Chevy (aka a "mouse" motor).
James2 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Thanks Chris, and here is a small update. Not much just smoothing and fitting things...
wayne swayze Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Looks good James. Any idea of colour? Will you be using the stock door handles?
James2 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) Thanks Wayne, I will be using the stock handles but I may paint them the body color. That color will be candy purple I think! Edited May 23, 2015 by James2
