the kit the colors built as a single sleeper out of the box. paintwork and striping sketchy with the wheels and tires used as inspiration. should be another couple week project with opening doors and posable steering. stretched fuel tanks planned and keeping the detroit.

Yes, I would also like to know how you manage to build such great looking models, as fast as you do !

This looks like it will be another interesting build thread.

here you go Doobie. my xacto has been sharpened in both directions. still use the backside in a scraping motion but removes a narrower groove for a tite door fit later. the piano hinges are the smallest I could find online. installed interior view. exterior view showing door and hinge fit. door and cab notched evenly to center hinge using rivet detail as a straightedge. hope this helps answer your question. I will try to answer any further questions. ;-))

Thanks for that ken the pics tell a thousand words. Have you tried the PE hinges ? I think you can get them from model car garage . Im sure some one will correct that if im wrong . Tey are much smaller than what you are using there

thanx for the info Dave, I won't be getting any though. this was for the 1/16 truck and I'm using it up. only have 5 or 6 builds left I want to do. if it ain't in the box, it ain't gettin' it.

Good looking stuff Ken. Those hinges are likely a lot easier to use than the PE ones that you have to fold etc. What size are they? I think I might want to stock up on those.

hinges about 1/64 wider than what was on kit. about as close as any car plug wire or truck brakeline I've seen on any toy, and the key word for the day is toy. Landman they are the smallest that Dreamworks Hobby carry. some people let their nuggets do their thinking, or insist on copying. dull. ( not you landman, someone else on here over thinking )
