kmjmusic Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) This is my first stock car build. I lucked up and found 4 different stock car kits at a local consignment mall @ $3 each! So needless to say I'm pumped! Edited June 7, 2015 by kmjmusic
kmjmusic Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) The decals are harder to work since they are older but I'm glad they aren't falling apart. Edited June 7, 2015 by kmjmusic
Scalper Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Very nice so far. Built that kit ages ago. I remember the gold decals looking so good it looked plated.
kmjmusic Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Thanks Andre! I agree about the decals the gold does look cool!
Jmaracing Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Looks great.. I have the same kit unbuilt.. Good job..
kmjmusic Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Thanks for the kind words! I got side tracked by the Dale Jarret interstate lumina which Im going to be posting in the next few days. Gonna try to get more done on this one soon!
kmjmusic Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 The hood is done with some clear on it. I was worried about the decals wrinkling up but they seem to have accepted the clear rather well. Now off to get rest of the body done.
kmjmusic Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Finished up the rest of the decals and waiting for a coat of clear....so close I can taste it! Lol
1930fordpickup Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Awesome. One of the best paint schemes they had on the 28.
kmjmusic Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Well here it is! I have to say it was definitely a fun build. Im looking forward to building more. Any tips or critiques are welcome! Thanks again for the support and all of the kind words!
Sledsel Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Great job! Ya won the pole first time out. I have one on the back burner. Been thinking of doing full detail and plumbing, but as I looked at reference photos I am rethinking it. Would take me a year to do.
Nacho Z Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 First NASCAR build? Looks like you nailed it! Nice looking model.

Im working on another stock car now and was thinking along the same lines but feel the same way! Lol.
