Sean W Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hi Shawn. I am going to follow this build, I am working on my first model with opening doors. I really need pointers on making up the door jambs. Does removing the whole front clip like that help with the door hinging? Looking forward to seeing the progression. Sean
Jstfrnds Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Yes it does help and I'm working on making hinges that looks factory. I will keep you all posted. Been working a lot here lately. Post some more pics soon.
Len Woodruff Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Factory hinges will be great. Looking forward to seeing your process.
Jeepxj Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Great start so far.I'll be watching out for this to be done.
Sean W Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I want to echo what Len said, I really want to do hinges that look like real car door hinges, so I will really be interested to see what you come up with. I know it can work, just have to figure out how.
Jstfrnds Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Ok. Friday I will be posting about the hinges. Thanks again.

Geno Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 This is gonna be cool, I'm wanting to do a version of the Murder Nova from Street Outlaws. That thing is a monster.
Jstfrnds Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) Worked on the framing all weekend. It's getting ready for the tubs now. And working on hinges. Loving the build. First pro street I've ever made.     Edited December 11, 2016 by Jstfrnds Needed more pics
Christopher J Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Absolutely fantastic! Very nice work. I love the scratch built frame.
Jstfrnds Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Sorry guys. Been working on getting the tubs in. Will post the hinges soon. Thanks to all that have replied to the build. Very time consuming but worth the time. Thanks again to all.
Modlbldr Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Wow! What a work of art. That cage is amazing. I'll be watching this one too. Later-
DeeCee Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 That's some pretty tidy fabrication work there mate, will be watching this come together.
66belair Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Your fabrication is really good. What did start with for the main chassi pan and bulkhead?
Jstfrnds Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 I drew the blueprints for the framing and hand made everything out of styrene. I want to try brass pretty soon but nervous.
