mchalal Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 With the New 71 Ford on its way, I thought I'd post my mid 70's Ford Stake truck I am working on. started with AMT Star Truck, removed extra body molding, wheels from Monogram Ford F350 Duallie, tires from Danny at Scenes Unlimited. Stake body from old AMT early 60's pick up. scratch built bed. more as I finish it up. Paint is Rustoleum Odds & Ends light blue.
rsxse240 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Indeed, this is really nice! I always loved stake bed trucks.
AzTom Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 That is nice. I had a real 1973 that was light blue metallic.
Platerpants Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Nice! I got a real 1:1 75 f250 460 project truck and the moebius 69 & 71, so i do like this.
Lordmodelbuilder Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Nice build. I built a similar Ford stake bed model as a kid using the Star Truk kit. Getting ready to build another. I think I have a few of the stake bed sides like you show in your pictures. What kit are they originally from?
mchalal Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys. should have more pictures soon. The stake sides I won on an ebay auction are from an AMT 62 Chevy Apache pick up. They aren't glued in or painted so one day I would love to get them cast. I saw another set on ebay but didn't bid high enough.
mchalal Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 a few more pictures. I am doing some weathering on the model using Testors new weathering colors I picked up today. doing it as an auto parts truck, so the load consists of oil drums, a beat up 429 from a Johan Maverick, parts boxes, all weathered
SCI-FI Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 [...] doing it as an auto parts truck [...], parts boxes, all weathered Callahan Auto Parts of Sandusky, Ohio, may be a popular, if subtle choice.
